Revelation 20:10  And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

Quote928 basani,zw basanizo {bas-an-id'-zo}
Meaning:
1) to test (metals) by the touchstone, which is a black siliceous stone used to test the purity of gold or silver by the colour of the streak produced on it by rubbing it with either metal
2) to question by applying torture
3) to torture
4) to vex with grievous pains (of body or mind), to torment
5) to be harassed, distressed
5a) of those who at sea are struggling with a head wind

A few questions about this verse.
"for ever and ever" is aion. So not everlasting.
Will the devil, beast and false prophet reconciled to Heaven.
Are they part of 'all things' that where given by the Father to the Son to be saved?
I assume here also it's about correction and not real torture.

Humans that are correct are teached the true meaning of the love and word of God. During life they didn't fully understand for example.
But what excuse does the devil have? He has know God very well. He sinned.
What about people that got into heaven. Have they become totally incapable of sinning?
1 Timothy 2:3-4  ...God our Savior;  Who will have all men to be saved...
John 12:47  And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
Romans 4:5 But to the one who does not work, but believes in the one who declares the ungodly righteous ...

That is if you believe that the devil, beast and false prophet are actual beings and ideas to describe things or systems of things.

Paul Hazelwood

It is possible either way IMO.  If we are dealing with separate beings then I believe in romans where is says ALL creation is subject to hope, then indeed, there will be purification.

However, lets say that all of this is a realm of existance of contrast.   Could learning righteousness be learning the power of balancing it all equally?  To where the positive and negative of all things is balanced perfectly and in harmony?

There is a factor of destruction without something that exists ceasing to exist.   If everything is Gods spirit then we have to see the possibility that nothing is actually destroyed but only converted to another form or the addition of power binding things together so that it works as one.

Either way, there is a reconciling factor involved.

Some say they represent things like (false) religion, politics, etc.
In case you mean that, a question.
Why not just write they are no more or destroyed?
How can a 'system' be tortured, tested, ...?

I have a question...do you guys believe that Satan (the deceiver of the world, destroyer, and all the names he has) will be reconciled to God? He will go to heaven some day??? Do you guys believe that??? Could you help me on this? Thanks...

Even if some try to say that principalities and powers is only what's going on between our ears, which I still don't think that I believe, invisible thrones to me, in Colossians 1, definitely include Satan:

15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. 17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. 18 And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.
19 For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, 20 and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross. (Colossians 1:15-20)

The above Scripture says that anything created by God through Jesus Christ is being reconciled because He's made peace for each entity in all of Creation by His Blood.  This agrees with this passage from Ephesians 1 where He's abounding His Blood in all wisdom and prudence according to the mystery of His will to all things so that all Christ is having to do is pull the strands of His Blood that have dried upon every life back to Himself to take them to the Father in 1Corinthians 15:28:

7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace 8 which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence, 9 having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself, 10 that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth—in Him. (Ephesians 1:7-10)

Blessings in Jesus! Even if some try to say that principalities and powers is only what's going on between our ears, which I still don't think that I believe. So you don't believe in that? What about the spiritual battles that go on in a persons life? Do you believe in that?  :Peace:

Yes, I most definitely do.  And I do believe that the battle field for the most part is in the mind.  What I meant previously was that some around here have been saying that principalities and powers aren't fallen angels or demons, but are simply our own human nonsense at work.  But I've been involved in too much deliverance ministry to believe that.  Where some of these people do have a bit of an argument, though, is that I'm not sure that the Bible is 100% clear on the origins of demons.  Most of what people believe about that is either from the book of Enoch or from Milton's Paradise Lost.  Very few things that are typically preached about the origins of demons in a lot of Churches are actually Biblically solid.

My Bible says to resist the devil and cast him out, to cast down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and to bring every thought captive to the obedience of the Anointed One and His Anointing.  We're to be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with/through thanksgiving, make our wants known to God.  The Bible says to humble yourself under the mighty hand of God by casting all of your cares upon Him so that He can exalt you in due time.  This is how we're to be sober and vigilant, but nothing in my Bible says that the thoughts that we're to resist are all of the substance that there is to the devil.  My Bible indicates in Colossians and elsewhere that Christ's victory is so complete over the adversary that he's been reduced in power where a believer's life is concerned to where it's like the Garden of Eden situation again in a believer's life where all the devil can do is be cunning and suggestive.

But the Bible says to continue in Jesus' Word and in the Word of the New Testament and that I'll know the truth that Jesus knows that keeps Him free, and I won't walk in darkness but will have the light of life, because if the Son has made me free, then I'm free indeed.  Jesus said in John 8 that He continued in the Word of the Father and that's what kept Him free, and that if we'd continue in His Word, then we'd be His disciples just like He was the Father's disciple and that's what would make us free.  He later told His disciples that if people have kept His Word, then they'd keep their words as well, so that's where I interpret His meaning to simply walk in the whole New Testament.  It's the road map for success, no matter what or who we face.  New Testament spiritual warfare is only standing fast in the liberty where with Christ has made us free and to refuse to submit to a yoke of bondage in our spirit, soul, body, finances, and social lives.  We're not trying to attain.  The Bible says that through Jesus we have attained, we are heir of all things, and we're seated together with Him at the right hand of God.

The KJV comes the closest to translating Philippians 3 correctly of any of the translations that I've seen, but their italicized words get in the way.  Italicized words in the KJV are words added by the translators to try to smooth out the translation and they're not in the original Hebrew and Greek.  Philippians 3 in the KJV without those italicized words says something to the effect of, "Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended but one thing, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forth to those things which are before.  I press for the mark of the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus!!"  Otherwise, the typical religious way of reading that horribly contradicts absolutely everything that St. Paul had ever written to the Church.  He repeatedly taught that by grace through faith we have attained all things.  By the faith of Jesus our life is hid with Christ in God, and when Christ Who is our life appears, then we'll also appear with Him in glory.  Our appearance and our substance as a result of the transforming power of the Word, the Blood, and the Spirit are two entirely different things.

But they are being reconciled line upon line, precept upon precept as we grow in grace by growing in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus, being steadfast and unmovable, knowing that our work in the Lord is not in vain.  Our work, according to the book of Hebrews, is our rest.  We fight the invading garbage from our minds that tries to legally challenge our victory in Christ and we just stand.  Having done all to stand, we stand!  Because "it is finished!!"

Wint O Green

Ok i see, yeah i most definately believe that "it is finished". We are victorious in Christ, and we can fight satan back, Ephesians 6 talks about it and how to guard ourselves. I believe satan tries to in any way shape or form to bring us down, because he knows we are children of God, and he knows that Jesus Loves us. Thank you for sharing your views! God bless you!  :ty:
