Parts of prophecy is an outline?

I think we've all heard how Daniel is the a key to the Book of Revelation. And of course it is. :laughing7:

Look at chapter 7 - Daniel's vision of four beasts - It's an outline! I hadn't noticed before, and it was a question.. Does the 4th beast great and terrible represent one in very latter days?

Of course 7:20
is a description of the fourth beast, and it has ten horns..

..here's the outline [ :2c: ]

7:7-11 - begins as a description.. then 8 ....eyes like the eyes of a man, and a mouth speaking pompous words. 9 "I watched till thrones were put in place, And the Ancient of Days was seated... A fiery stream issued.. ..A thousand thousands ministered to Him; The court was seated, and the books were opened..

Now I know this is metaphor for judgment..

But look at 13,14 - (and I know some say this occurred at Pentecost)
One like the Son of Man, coming with the clouds of heaven! ...Then to Him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and His kingdom the one which shall not be destroyed. ...18 But the saints of the Most High shall receive the kingdom, and possess the kingdom forever, even forever and ever.'

It's true of Pentecost.. but the verse and "books were opened" seems to me to be an intentional link to Revelation chapter 20 and 'Day' of Judgment.

The same outline is repeated in verses 19-22 -
Then I wished to know the truth about the fourth beast, which was different from all the others, exceedingly dreadful, with its teeth of iron (Dan 2 = Rome) and its nails of bronze (Dan 2 = Greece) which devoured, broke in pieces, and trampled the residue with its feet; 20 and the ten horns that were on its head, and the other horn which came up, before which three fell, namely, that horn which had eyes and a mouth which spoke pompous words, whose appearance was greater than his fellows.

21 "I was watching; and the same horn was making war against the saints, and prevailing against them, 22 until the Ancient of Days came, and a judgment was made in favor of the saints of the Most High, and the time came for the saints to possess the kingdom.

What does this mean? The fourth beast, different from the others before it.. somehow endures to the time of Jesus' return (and no it is not the RCC, though it once was, though there were protestant inquisitions too!)

The Iron/Rome and the Bronze/Greece - Roman/Graeco (more often called Greco/Roman) - Western Civilization becomes / creates a monster..!?

A second good key to bible prophecy, of course, is seeing what is in the world around us and trending, and history..

Thanks I'll check it out.. Daniel is quite the book! chapters about his visions are not in historical order.. names of kings are different than in our history books.. I haven't tackled researching, studying chapter 8.. But this thread got me going..

I finally realized after some re-study and review of Daniel, the overall message! Well, for us today.. or that is for folks in those very 'last hours' of man's system of things.. And it's this - 'when you see "ten"..! Think about it.. the visions in Daniel

Nebuchadnezzar's dream statue - 1st babylon kingdom, then media-Persia, Greek(bronze), Rome(iron), then iron and/actually, or clay.. and then ten toes - which the Mountain of God's Kingdom will strike the toes.. and all man's kingdoms/statue will fall.. (Dan 2)

Daniel's vision of the Ram(1) qith two horns, one higher(media-Persia) and the Goat(2) with one large horn (Alexander the Great/Greece) which is broken into four horns w/ one striking toward south, east and the glorious land, Antiochus Ephiphanes, one of his four generals who inherited the kingdom when Alexander died, who stopped the morning and evening sacrifices for 2300 days --> until Judas Maccabee cleansed the temple.. (Dan 8)

Daniel's vision of the four(4) beasts, as they come up, one at a time, out of the stirred up seas.. (1st)lion w/ wings & wings removed(babylon) - (2)bear one side higher(media-Persia) - (3)leopard w/ four heads and four wings(greek) - (4)another after, dreadful and terrible, with iron teeth (columns?) and bronze claws, oh, and ten horns-7:7&19 (Dan 7).

Then of course we know the verses about the throne of God and ancient of days and one like the Son of man on the clouds of heaven.. etc..

The ten horns you saw are ten kings who have not yet received a kingdom, but will receive one hour of authority as kings, along with the beast. Revelation 17:12

Key - Those "ten" which the Mountain of the LORD's Kingdom will strike toppling the whole statue of world empires..

And behold, One like the Son of Man,
Coming with the clouds of heaven!
...to Him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom,
That all peoples, nations, and languages should serve Him.
His dominion is an everlasting dominion,
Which shall not pass away,
And His kingdom the one
Which shall not be destroyed. Daniel 7:13,14

It was a very good video.. :thumbsup: ..and they didn't get totally bogged down in interpretation, especially concerning the papacy.. like we are still in the middle ages, can't see the world of today.. (so many bible prophecy buffs have put prophecy in a box called the papacy/yesteryear - imo - that's to say nothing of the box labeled 7 years only)
