Interesting video, I learned some things I didn't know.

Jock.
Very interesting! They have a very different take on all this, and very much at odds with what I was taught in the Seventh Day Adventist church. The SDA church will always point to Rome and its namesake Church as being the Beast, Harlot, etc. Having looked at so many theories, I think one reason Babylon is a Mystery, is that it can be found in so many places, and in so many systems.
Armageddon News may be entirely correct, but a few things made me wonder. The video is narrated by a female voice, speaking British-accented English, BUT the diction was precise and unnatural. I think it was computer generated, and I must wonder why not a real human voice. Further, some of the text was mis-spelled, such as "A Lass! A Lass!" instead of "Alas! Alas!" Tell me HOW a native speaker/writer of the English language could make such an egregious error! I can't help but suspect that the people at Armageddon News are non-native speakers of English, and have an agenda of their own. I'm curious to know, but they're not saying...
Probably why I didn't bother watching it, is what you heard Laz.
I think mystery babylon is Jerusalem; not meggidio, mecca or whatever other town.
Yeah, I take your point Lazarus, but then, I tend to be suspicious of most every theory I have heard. The idea that a lot of this is in the Middle East doesn't surprise me, especially with what is happening around the world right now, with Muslims desperate for the caliphate. There are so many takes on Bible Prophecy that it almost boggles the mind. It's possible that Rome (Vatican) may be part of the jigsaw but I don't see it as Mystery Babylon.
White Wings, Why do you say Jerusalem? Can you elaborate a little bit?
Thanks guys.
Jock.

:iagree:
Gal 4:25 for this Hagar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and doth correspond to the Jerusalem that now is , and is in servitude with her children,
Gal 4:26 and the Jerusalem above is the free-woman, which is mother of us all,
Well, you guys could be absolutely correct in your position but I'm not so sure. There are so many theories on this, Jerusalem, Rome, Mecca, New York City and maybe some I've overlooked.
Anyways, we'll find out as time goes on. Thanks for your input.

Dear Jock
About Mystery Babylon ,
one of the main things I remember is this
if it were possible even the very elect would be decieved
and John the revelator saw and was in awe of Her in the earth and was admonished by the Angel for even thinking like that [everyone thinks when seeing that power ]
Rev 17:1 One of the seven angels who had poured out the seven bowls came over and spoke to me. "Come with me," he said, "and I will show you the judgment that is going to come on the great prostitute, who rules over many waters.
Rev 17:2 The kings of the world have committed adultery with her, and the people who belong to this world have been made drunk by the wine of her immorality."
Rev 17:3 So the angel took me in the Spirit [fn] into the wilderness. There I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast that had seven heads and ten horns, and blasphemies against God were written all over it.
Rev 17:4 The woman wore purple and scarlet clothing and beautiful jewelry made of gold and precious gems and pearls. In her hand she held a gold goblet full of obscenities and the impurities of her immorality.
Rev 17:5 A mysterious name was written on her forehead: "Babylon the Great, Mother of All Prostitutes and Obscenities in the World."
Rev 17:6 I could see that she was drunk—drunk with the blood of God's holy people who were witnesses for Jesus. I stared at her in complete amazement.
Rev 17:7 "Why are you so amazed?" the angel asked. "I will tell you the mystery of this woman and of the beast with seven heads and ten horns on which she sits.
Rev 17:8 The beast you saw was once alive but isn't now. And yet he will soon come up out of the bottomless pit [fn] and go to eternal destruction. And the people who belong to this world, whose names were not written in the Book of Life before the world was made, will be amazed at the reappearance of this beast who had died.
Rev 17:9 "This calls for a mind with understanding: The seven heads of the beast represent the seven hills where the woman rules. They also represent seven kings.
Rev 17:10 Five kings have already fallen, the sixth now reigns, and the seventh is yet to come, but his reign will be brief.
Rev 17:11 "The scarlet beast that was, but is no longer, is the eighth king. He is like the other seven, and he, too, is headed for destruction.
Rev 17:12 The ten horns of the beast are ten kings who have not yet risen to power. They will be appointed to their kingdoms for one brief moment to reign with the beast.
Rev 17:13 They will all agree to give him their power and authority.
Rev 17:14 Together they will go to war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will defeat them because he is Lord of all lords and King of all kings. And his called and chosen and faithful ones will be with him."
Rev 17:15 Then the angel said to me, "The waters where the prostitute is ruling represent masses of people of every nation and language.
Rev 17:16 The scarlet beast and his ten horns all hate the prostitute. They will strip her naked, eat her flesh, and burn her remains with fire.
Rev 17:17 For God has put a plan into their minds, a plan that will carry out his purposes. They will agree to give their authority to the scarlet beast, and so the words of God will be fulfilled.
Rev 17:18 And this woman you saw in your vision represents the great city that rules over the kings of the world."

Thank you Jock ! we all are praying for the Spirit of discernment at this time , it seems that religion has become great in the earth and it will tak Gods Word & Spirit to make things right ! we do trust His perfect and complete will for all :dsunny:
I believe that the key to the mystery of the identity of Mystery Babylon lies in knowing that Babylon, as a city, is dead, yet lives on (dead and yet lives) as a book, the Babylonian Talmud. No one in the days of John the Apostle could have seen that one coming, for that book was yet to be written, as it was still in the form of the "traditions of the Elders" which Jesus spoke against. I have read excerpts of the Talmud, and yes, it is full of blasphemies against God, especially God the Son. Some I would not even repeat here...
Once you know that key, along with a knowledge base deeper than History 101, the rest falls into place. :declare:
named from the tower of babel...the works of men's hands..to ascend unto the heavens.......
'that we may make a name for ourselves[not Glorif yGod's name] that they exult in the heavens
of the works of their own hands[bricks and tar]
if as 'one' people, speaking the same language..the have begun doing this..nothing will
be impossible for them................
God's name must be exalted...the salvation of man is God's glory...what is impossible
with men..is possible with God....thus they were 'scattered' in confusion.
who is confused but he who would seek to raise himself above the stars into heaven?
who is confused byt he who says...I will make myself like God?
For God said 'let us make man in our image" but man said..'let us make ourselves like God[on
the day ye eat from it,ye shall be like God"
"Babylon the Great, mother of prostitutes, and of the abominations of the earth."
I no longer look outwardly to point the finger at Babylon. She is the mother of the abominations of the earth. I believe she is our flesh, our former bride, our former marriage to sin and death.
Revelation 18:4
Come out of her my people....
Romans 8:9
But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you.
She is also Sodom and Egypt where our Lord was crucified.
If Babylon is in the likeness, or carnal counterpoint to, the Bride- who is the city of God coming down out of the heavens adorned in a virgins white linen, the righteous acts of the saints. Then she is also a city(spiritual), a harlot(spiritual), clothed in scarlet, full of the abominable acts of the wicked. In my view a very universal principle, the "mystery of iniquity"- Mystery Babylon.
She is inclusive of all things we are speaking of as various manifestations of what she represents(imo) the kingdoms of men as opposed t the kingdom of God, the mother of Jezebel, the false prophetess, mother of Delilah, the seducer of the elect) who teaches the saints to commit fornication and truck with idols(figuratively defiling the pure teaching of Messiah).
She drinks the blood of the saints(the system always kills the ones at liberty) and the is always being consumed by the beast(the governments and principalities of men)
I mean, how simple could she be if John calls her MYSTERY in his apocaplypse. She is called the queen of heaven by Jeremiah (7:18; 44:17)
in proverbs she sits in the doorway beckoning to the simple, "The man of the house is gone...Come let us take our love until morning"- just like wisdom who cries out as well, "Come all you simple and learn of me"- but wisdom justifies her children. Babylon eats hers MUAHAHAHAAA!
She evil.
Well, I see merit in everything spoken. I have researched this for two days now and my eyes are crossed! There is no doubt that my flesh is in accord with Mystery Babylon but thank God for Jesus who has saved me and justified me (all of us) before the Father.
If Mystery Babylon is a city or country (kingdom), the Bible states that it is fallen, it is fallen, twice fallen. That leads me to believe that it is a city. I tend to believe that it is Istanbul (Constantinople) the revived Roman Empire. Anyway, that's my take on it, for now at least :Chinscratch:
Thanks to all for your participation. Prophecy can have many interpretations. Lets wait and see
Shalom
Jock. :Peace2:
Great replies , God bless you all , very helpful reminders of just what we are dealing with
God promises that all His wrath will be finished in her when the bowls are poured out Rev 17 and 18 , Thus the declaration to Come out of Her my people , lest you recieve her plagues
the great chastening of Gods justice uopn Her Sins magnified double to me that means it is as the earth and heaven !!
just as Jerusalem from above is the mother of us all has double peace a new heavens and earth made of the double blessings of Gods mercy ......
Gal 4:26 But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.
Strong's G2419 - Ierousalēm
Jerusalem = "set ye double peace"
denotes either the city itself or the inhabitants
"the Jerusalem that now is", with its present religious institutions, i.e. the Mosaic system, so designated from its primary external location
"Jerusalem that is above", that is existing in heaven, according to the pattern of which the earthly Jerusalem was supposed to be built
metaph. "the City of God founded by Christ", now wearing the form of the church, but after Christ's return to put on the form of the perfected Messianic kingdom
"the heavenly Jerusalem", that is the heavenly abode of God, Christ, the angels, saints of the Old and New Testament periods and those Christians that are alive at Christ's return
"the New Jerusalem", a splendid visible city to be let down from heaven after the renovation of the world, the future abode of the blessed
Blessings to all
