My thought is if the mark of the beast isn't some sort of chip, why does the bible state that everyone who has this mark will develop sores (could that be cancerous).

I totally agree, Sheila, we should not waste our money on books about this.. or other end time topics.. Especially, as, after all, we have the source, the bible! We are just as capable of reading it as anyone else who may write a book. We could write a book too. (But that changes things, doesn't it? I'd say publish on an online site where someone can pay for it before it is printed.. so charge what it costs to print and send. :Chinscratch: Food for thought? A lot of us could write books or booklets, or do homemade tracts.)

Hi! I'm a newbie then! Welcome back! I think you have a point. If the mark, that will be needed it seems (eventually?) to buy or sell is only a tatoo or is a person's phone or a headset or something.. maybe some would develop sores.. or cancer? which is a rumor about phones? Is that from energy being put off by the phone? So something like it within.. I find myself thinking this 'mark' could possibly have some behavior modification, ..and location capability.. what? an app? Well, we know there's lots going on in "nanotechnology".. And people are talking about AI, artificial 'intelligence'.
With the issue being, I believe, who programs this stuff! Oy! ...Two fruits of the earth.. the children of God (believers - by heavenly "lot"? - who believe during this life, the fruit maturing - of life in and with the Spirit of God / "the way") and the fruit of life in the wrong way, which is *seemingly* without God.
Do you think it's a progression? One verse says without the mark one will not be able to participate in buying or selling (at least publicly that is) and another verse says those without the mark will be killed. I'm thinking it starts out as, hey, you need it to buy and sell (and show your conforming. You want, after all, world "peace" don't you?! If you don't agree, if you want to march to the beat of a different drum.. well, you must (in that day) be against world peace! World equality.. [Try to warn people about the danger of too much power centralized.. it's a dying concept..?]
Sorry to carry on so! Maybe you can tell I'm interested in bible prophecy. I don't just think of it as prophecy or "the future". It's even more than the 'end' of the story. I think of it as the culmination and epiphany, so to speak, of all of history. And I think UR / CU is evident in it.

IMO - the strength of sin is the law, how convenient would it be to take something of God and turn it into his mark, making himself look righteous by that mark ..... what is the mark of God? Is it not Grace? the forgiveness of sins? ......
so understanding "the strength of sin is the law" is to understand that to "miss the mark" of grace; miss the forgiveness of missing the mark ... is through the law and using it to condemn others in our hearts rather than forgiving them in our hearts.
What is the mark of the beast? IMO it is the law of God, taking something that is meant to be understood as righteous and using it for unrighteousness, religion IMO is the anti-christ in that it suffered a blow to the head, a blow to its way of thinking at the time that Christ walked this earth in the flesh, but it did not die and was given life again through man's own understanding and now can masquerade as "an angel of light" by using the name of Christ in its own vanity, which is the taking of the name (nature) of the Lord in vane (in its own vanity).
Yes, I know, these are mighty bold statements, but I can no longer hold back the truths that I have been shown, if I am rejected for believing these things, then "so be it", i resign to what I have been called into and will no longer post here, if that is what I am asked to do, for I will die so that others may live, to not place a stumbling block in the paths of others.

I definitely think it will have everything to do with religion! We of course see things as though through a glass dimly.. but He brings things into focus. Especially if we see things taking shape in the world? I think many religious, and some of the et believers will find their selves face to face with those troubling end time events, having missed signs Jesus gave, etc. And not able to see the full picture..
I can see how some may develop even more hardness of heart and become ever more and more part of the problem, and, or going along with the world, rather than truly submitting to Him, the real Him, not the religious concept of Him. In one way or another it seems like man is determined to seat himself in the seat of God as the highest power.. And one way or another man governing as though he were highest power/God. we're all evolving you know.. (not) I think there will be a marriage of (the idea of) spiritual evolution to politics.
All of this (my thoughts) is only speculation of course.. :gsmile:
P.S. - I am not a strong believer in holding back things we feel He has shown to us! :Peace2:

IMO as I stated in my previous post that the law of God is the mark of the beast, that the sores (ulcers in their original meaning, blisters on the skin) are results of; examples of "works of the law" .... anyone who has ever done any gardening or digging knows that your hands develop blisters from the work and anyone who has worked in very high temperatures and sweats a lot over a prolonged period of time develop heat blisters from all the sweating.
Also IMO, you can not buy or sell without the mark is understood as you cannot "buy into" religion without "works of the law" and also you cannot sell religion to another without the "works of the law".

I agree with you also. I believe the mark of the beast is the law. Just my opinion, but I believe the Sabbath has something to do with the buying and selling. From the very beginning it has always been law and grace that have been the main source of religions. They build their whole systems on law or grace or both. Most religions try to keep the law and preach grace, it is a mixture. it is hard for me to explain but I see what you are saying. The law has caused death to many, including Christ. I pray I made some sense here.

Since the Sabbath is "rest" and "to work" is for profit (gain)..... {sell it not}, it is a rest from work/a rest from profit/a rest from gain .... all the same truth said by different examples

I've studied the book of revelation and if the characters were people, the forehead of city ($ity?) babble-on would be its own character, and I think of it as all untruth, since the 'beginning'. I cannot lie , I was deceived when I believed the LIE ,,, I do thank Jesus for deliverance from all that fear and torment
under the law and ministration of death , but it was replaced with a spirit of pride ,
a Babylon spirit that indeed , if it were possible even the very elect would be deceived ,,,
It is very crafty and glories in your flesh into thinking you are a part of God , you see ,to me ,they only use Gods name to work iniquity , making prisoners to their cause.

I could understand this Living witness to Gods glory so much better after the overflowing scourge had passed from my own soul .
Everyone's experiences of God are so different , but He makes sure you get what He means when He makes examples of us all ...
For me ,We are no different than they were , while experiencing God dealing with them as well as us all now .
I can only give Him the glory , because He sure did change my heart and mind ,by reasoning with us , though much suffering and changes and experiences and ''all things are yours life and death etc '' and you belong to Christ and Christ is Gods , proof of faith in Him , He is TRUE in every Word the bible says will happen , it does come to pass . Every Word that proceeds out of His Mouth returns to Him and it comes with fulfillment of the WORD SPOKEN, only to be lived out and never void ..

[I think what many think of as Babylon of today, the fulfillment, I think of as a Jezebel (Jezebaal) spirit, unfaithful and in error, and as a part of the bigger babylon the great... which is responsible for all slain upon earth, even since Cain slew Abel.. And I think this Jezebaal will marry the false prophet(teacher/teaching/theory) which turned Western Civilization, once called Christendom on its ear - But now I may be babbling,lol]

What an encouraging word, sister.. Those who pride their selves that they are chosen forever elite, and the rest they deem or accept the idea of forever sinful, not realizing but for the grace of God.. Each and every one of us could just as well be in that large group who never come to the realization of Jesus and the heavenly Father during this lifetime of what some call the vale of tears (is that veil or vale? I've never known. Is there a vail? :mock: I see the word as vail but I believe it's vale. Really I see it as a combo veil/vale.. Sorry, I think I went down the rabbit hole!)
Each and every one of us could just as well be in that large group who never come to the realization of Jesus and the heavenly Father during this lifetime. I totally believe that.. "Chosen" in the Greek, if I remember it right, includes in its usage "by lot". I was surprised to see that. I have been thinking for a long time that to be 'chosen' to come to the faith during this lifetime, was/is 'merely' a fortunate shake of the heavenly dice. Merely because someone has to play that role, and someone has to play the other role.
I think this more and more as I go along. That the second crowd, the one which is all those of the 2nd resurrection, which is of all the unsaved (not yet saved!) one thousand years after the return of Jesus and the 1st resurrection which is of all believers throughout the earth ages, that there is no 'them' and 'us' (of any sort).. That God is just letting things run their course, and dang it every course is gonna be run.. Everything under the sun.. what could happen would happen.. We know - there's only one "the way" of life.. All other ways of life, are not of life, but lead to death, so they are of death. We all had our delusions.. And but for the grace of God (and luck of the draw?) there we would still be.. Yes She was here for a loooooong time Gen 11 was her clear beginning ,to me where you can see her rise up , but was even before this I do believe ,Revelations shows us How Gods plan of the ages is destroyed her in the end .
The beast will hate her and They will leave her desolate[empty, same as vanity all are subjected too as worldly ]
and naked[open show ] tear her flesh [ same as sarcasm ,to make a mockery of RELIGION ]

The Bible is the true record of all the ages and generations and peoples and tongues and nations of God dealing with them and how they handled the WORD OF LIFE .. Jesus is that Word and also the only Resurrection there is , He is the Rest and Sabbath Day [1000 year reign] ever was or is or will be .
He come in the flesh literally in the fullness of time , but comes now in the Spirit into our flesh to dwell , before those whom waited for Gods revealing of Christ died in faith and waiting on the promises of Gods word of be fulfilled , Jesus come to do just that and is still doing it in my opinion ..

whenever I read those verses I see in my mind an image of a beast with a circle of horns or seats on its head, lol.. ten of them.. like the ten toes of King Nebuchadnezzar's dream statue - (there's king Nebuchadnezzar again!) I'll betcha (figure of speech only) those ten kings of the last hour will be divisions of what everyone's always talking about, the 'one world government'. That's one conspiracy theory I do think is likely true.. how man will make man/government to be 'God'. Just look how they already have decided man is the higher/highest power.. Sitting man in the seat of highest power which only belongs to God! 'They' cannot believe in Him, so have their own theory of life (biggest false prophet of today? which is causing a great falling away of the culture from the faith?) - Basically, all of it is simply the same old, same old, man on the throne.. ruling.. Only now, because of technology it's getting to be a small world and if they work as one, what shall they not be able to do? Like before the confusing of the languages at Babel Tower.. Gonna finish building the tower.. world dominion, one world governing which will suck up the religions, making them fake/state religion (a one world faith? as they say).. Somehow the government began to do the work of the churches ?

The one reading it obeys by faith hearing what the HOLY SPIRIT is saying will be blessed of God though their end .
This is why I believe it is so personally applied .

:laugh: So true Sis , ha ha , we are having a time with frozen water from the spring and getting water into our house , the polar vortex hitting us for 2 weeks have brought a hardship on this farm lol Even our chickens have survived the deep freeze , so glad for that .. and have carried lots of buckets of water from the pond to them ! glad that is done for now lol..
God is good and made a way though , but we should expect troubles in this life , that is a given the WORD says so .
We have His peace because we trust the LORD JESUS CHRIST keeping our hearts in the Love of God , to the end of these things ...

Amen.. I can't help thinking this life of "missing the mark"
is tribulation, and
is also apocalypse/collapse/ruin/"the wages" (result) "of sin" (greek "missing the mark") Which some natural tribulations of life still accompany us, but we have been transplanted into His kingdom and thus the ruin has passed us over.. :cloud9: :banana:
We had some of that polar vortex too.. but now it's warmer and the chickens (and dogs, cat and humans) are loving it! :thumbsup:

I totally agree with you Marie :dsunny: missing the mark is missing out on the higher calling ,
His voice to rise up out of ''death'' carnality and be with Him on the higher realm of thoughts , where Love is reasoned and purposed in God .
It is keeping our minds on the things above .
As focusing our spiritual eyes on Jesus and heart on the things that are pure and holy and less flesh with those desires that is condemned to die already ,
Where faith takes the forefront by practicing trust in God in every area of our lives and looking for the good and grace that abounds ,
as it can always be worse than what we are going though actually ... by acknowledging God by being thankful for His mercy in every little thing .

I would like to add that the mark of the Beast starts with his 42 month reign and the 10 men he gives kingdoms to worship him. During that 42 months the mark is a sign that a person is a merchant how makes a living by buying and selling as the Beast directs. Consumers have not taken the mark as they buy things but they do nor sell. That is 1/2 of the demand that is placed on the mark sending you to hell. You also have to worship the 'image' and that is a false throne that will stand in Jerusalem just for the 4 days the two witnesses are dead. Jerusalem is Satan's Babylon for those 4 days and then the city is melted with the same fire that was used on Sodom.
