A strange thing

It's been totally crazy in my neck of the woods lately.. My husband and I were looking for a good, but used, popup tent camper for our son and wife to be as a (surprise!) wedding gift. Hubby kept getting SO flustered and harassed about it. No faith on it, no faith at all.. He's a very cautious guy and he's usually right.. But this was kind of outrageous. But every time I prayed about it, it was like - or the spirit of it was 'don't worry about it at all.. everything's well in hand' - with a shot of peaceful joy. [The wedding is Saturday, it's a camping wedding, and they think we rented this nice camper for them - and thank goodness, because they are at the camping site and its been raining and storming all night and all day today.. They would have been tenting it.]

So hubby and I plotted out our route, or actually a couple of routes to take on the fateful day, last Saturday, to go out looking at campers we'd seen and I had called about in all the papers, ads and online. He was still feeling the cause was surely lost even tho we had a long list. And my prayers were still coming back 'don't worry, good things coming!' And the Lord kept flashing 55's at me and 33's and other doubles once or twice.. Now before you think I'm totally crazy, I was born on 5/5/55 and, well, that's one way it seems to me the Lord communicates with me. He communicates with us all!

So off we go Saturday morning and the first place we get to and the first camper we see was pretty much perfect and in our price range so we bought it, and that was that. (It has a slide out and is also extra heavy duty supportive of more weight than usual, which is good, cause our son's a pretty big dude. It's a Coleman, if you know anything about campers.)

About that time I decided I could use a good book to read so I'm reading Dean Koontz' "dark rivers of the heart". (Then) Later that same evening and weekend my husband was watching on YouTube a guy named Pastor Joe Fox, I've never heard of before, a survivalist kind of guy. My husband says at one point "makes a guy wonder if he shouldn't rather cash in some 401k, use it to prepare before it's gone anyway". Something he's totally against. And again with the flashing of the 55's. I mean it was actually kind of over the top. Not that I think the things in the book of revelation are imminent, because I don't.. though I could be wrong of course.

Not only in the book I'm reading, on Sunday evening and while hubby is still watching pastor joe, the book had a column of three- you guessed it, 55's in it - it had also three 53's through 56's.. but still..

But also in my bible reading today was a verse that I'd really have to call a cross reference to that Koontz book! Luke 12:39. Unless you can read between the lines of this post, or have read "Dark Rivers of the Heart" by Dean Koontz, you won't know what the heck I'm talking about.. But there you go.. Strange things..

You know how prayer is, sometimes it's like there's an iron ceiling and the prayers are going nowhere. Of course our Father hears them, but that's how they feel. It's like - Sorry, overcast, not getting through. Then other times it's clear, blue skies and like smoke from a campfire our prayer seems to rise straight up..

Also in the day's reading was the "Lilies of the Field" and don't worry about what you will eat or what you will drink.."

Hi Marie,

Kinda neat story. Sort of gives us a break from the back and forth material commonly posted (p.s. - not a put down on anything or any one). This forum is a wonderful life line for me to read and share.  :dsunny: :dsunny:

Amen! For me too! Tentmaker has helped me to FULLY realize the truth of UR, the 100% success of God's great plan of salvation.. Which of course cannot be anything less! I hope to always have such a place to come to, where UR is believed/known. :gsmile:

Eek, though! this book is not for anyone overly sensitive.. Ends up with some really bad, bad guy(s)..

Amazing how things work out.
We are told that our Father can do greater than we imagine. Why limit what He is going to do for us?
Christ, and Paul, point out that our earthly parents do things for us, and that our Father is bigger than them.
This experience you have gone through, Marie, is probably for hubby's benefit; just a little demo. After all, I.M.O we witness to people we are close to in ways of which we are not always aware.

I remember I was speaking to someone at a restaurant about the salvation of all, (he believed in the hell doctrine), but afterward I had some people from another booth who overheard our conversation approach me and agreed that everything I had said made sense to them.
