Title: The Sanctuary, is it the temple of God?
Post by: Peacetroll on June 04, 2008, 10:36:19 PM
What does the cleansing of the sanctuary represent?

Daniel 8:13Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain saint which spake, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot?

14And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.

Could it have anything to do with what Peter said much later?

Peter 4:17For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

18And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?

Or could this be a clue to what it means?

Revelation 15:7And one of the four beasts gave unto the seven angels seven golden vials full of the wrath of God, who liveth for ever and ever.

8And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God, and from his power; and no man was able to enter into the temple, till the seven plagues of the seven angels were fulfilled.

We know that Jesus is the Glory of God, and His Power is the Holy Spirit, For God is a spirit, the Spirit that was in the man Jesus. We also know that the true church is His temple.

What can these things mean, and how do they concern we who are His building?

where you going with this?

QuotePeter 4:17For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

maybe you read this scripture diffrent to me?...the END is Christ....being saved is BEING awakened from the DEAD...one can be dead even alive in the Flesh..after all those friends of yours the Pharisees were DEAD men walking..speaking from the grave as such.

Judgment IS COME bro..for those in HIM given the LIGHT of understanding WHO HE IS.

THE DEAD ARE RAISED everyday....ETERNAL life IS TO know HIM

Jhn 17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

1Jo 5:20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, [even] in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

Christ is the POWER of God Bro, scripture tells us so,...

Christ the POWER unto salvation.

Rom 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

1Cr 1:24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

As for revelation i read as a book of revision..that which has already been written and fulfilled...Then, NOW and what is to COME....

HE comes quickly TO all..

Blessings

Actually a good, legitimate OP question PT.  And a very good answer, Taff.  Edifying, thanks.  God's blessing, James.

I think there is or was (depending on one's eschatology view) a time of the "Ishmaels" and "Isaacs" existing side by side.  One who is destined for destruction, yet thinks they have it all together, one who thinks they are God's "special" chosen.  Those who took the old covenant and interpreted and acted according to a carnal mindset.

Then there are the "Isaacs", who have been chosen for a purpose, given eyes to see; to be rewarded for their role in bringing in the NEW.  The old would go "down" at the saving of the "Isaacs".

I think a good example, is

Noah was persecuted prior to the flood, while remaining faithful.  He was an "Isaac".  The world was the persecutors, stuck in self carnal pride.  They were the "Ishmaels".

The rains (lake of fire) came, and those who had been given spiritual eyes and remained faithful  were "elevated" above the water/fire, not hurt of the second death, safe in the arms of the ARK (the risen Christ).  They were rewarded with inheriting the New World.

The "Ishmaels" were resurrected to destruction.  Their "mindset" came tumbling down, destroyed.  They house was left deslolate.

What was left remaining, NEW WORLD.

To me this is similar to your OP re: cleansing the sanctuary.   Out with the old, in with the NEW.

Now, imo; this can be seen as annhilation, or it can be seen as Universal Reconciliation.  It can be taken literally, or it can be seen as a cleansing of the mind.

Destroying people, or destroying mindsets.

my two cents.

1 Corinthians 3:16
Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

John 6:27
Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.

This is the clensing of the sanctuary.

Revelation 7:3
Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.

Revelation 7:4
And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.
Revelation 7:3-5

but for what purpose was/is the temple cleansed??

Rev 1:6  And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

Priests have a function.

This is what they were sealed into Jesus for.

Revelation 20:4
And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

The question now is what they do for the thousand years and why.

Malachi 3:17And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.

18Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not.

Where have we heard that before?

Matthew 13:48Which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away.

49So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just,

50And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

When the last one of those 144000 is sealed in the forehead, the time of trouble such as has never been since men were on the earth will come upon the world.

This has nothing to do with His elect, as they are the adopted of the gentiles, non Israel, and will rest while the Saints, who are angels, workers in the field, finish their work with Jesus. Then heaven and earth that are now will pass away, and God will create a new heaven and new earth where all is perfection. Him.
