Title: Some verses most used to support E.T.
Post by: marie glen on August 07, 2013, 08:37:34 PM
I've noticed some scriptures used most to support the doctrine (blashemy, oops :laughing7: blasphemy) of 'hell'.

So I've been working on a summary of the rebuttals to them (I'll add the verses later as I'm 'on vacation' / on my annual visit home and time online is limited for me right now).

This is for folks very familiar with the Word..

"Tartarus' ='s chains of darkness
                    God is Life and Perfection (surely?)
                    Im-perfection is the opposite of Life and cannot reverse its course (being imperfect) thus chains

"Hades" the "place of the dead" mis-translated as 'hell' is still Sheol, the grave, where there is "no thought,
                   nor doing"

the "lower parts of the earth" where "Christ descended to" is the dust of the grave

Jesus preached - via the Spirit to those awaiting judgment/the flood - while the ark was being prepared

"Gehanna" was the town dump where the bodies of criminals were tossed, and burned

Lazarus and the rich man was a parable illustrating the possibility for the rich man and the "aionian" LOF
:smile: :hiya:

P.S.

"depart from me into ever lasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels" - but that's at Jesus' return.. and 1000 years before DOJ (day of judgment) - doesn't Ezekiel, Paul and Peter talk about fire at Jesus' return?

And of course there is no "ever lasting" in the Scriptures, but aion lasting.. the millenium being an aion, surely? ..after which is the 2nd resurrection
