i dont understand why this has to anything more than a literal place where dead bodies are burned that no one wants to go to, alive or dead

looked at in that context, it takes the fight right out of it, and turns it into yet another of jesus' teachings

(this being said, i get the fact that others have used this as a teaching on hell, but adding to that confusion only fuels that debate, imo)

See Rev 14:10 Rev 14:10      The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:   


   Rev 14:11      And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

Is the Lake of fire the same as being tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the Lamb   and also the same as drinking of the wine of the wrath of God?

Which is symbols, spiritual and real?

i understand what youre saying, but those arnt the scriptures in question, the ones in question are the amputation scriptures referring to gehenna (or am i confused?)

as for revelations, i am of the thought process that the entirety of revelation happened in the spiritual realm, while jesus was in the tomb (the 3 days) - i dont know the book well enough to know if that argument holds water, but i do know i dont believe in much the book teaches, but also dont nec agree with a preterist thought process, though that comes closer to my beliefs than a 'last days' belief

2. What is his image?
3. What is the mark of his name?
