A best description of the eternal fire

I'd link to it instead of only copy/paste, but I'm using the Biblehub app and is where I was reading it again and it really struck me or that is got absorbed.. say! Is that why our brain more resembles a sponge than a rock? :laughing7: sorry.. straying a little..

the word often used for 'eternal' is aionios which doesnt intrinsically mean 'eternal'.....the Hebrew word 'Olam' stands behind it as shown by fact that in the LXX, Olam is translated 'aionios'...and olam does not mean intrinsically  'eternal'.

Amen! If only all believers knew that God's Word is infallible, but human translators are not! As a matter of fact, the translators seem to be rather fond of projecting.. running with some verses and some words.. Likely simply because of the beliefs of the time and the culture.. Making scripture conform to human ideas and beliefs. Even as still, we can do also.. our understanding of scripture shaped by our beliefs.. rather than our beliefs shaped by the scripture. :doh: :gsmile: The ancient afterlife threatenings were powerful controls of the people..

back in KJV days the rulers used fear religion to control the peasant masses...scare them into subission to fear based religion to serve own ends.
