Paul mentioned - fearful expectation of judgment, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries - Hebrews 10:27. This could be a spiritual condition upon the judgment, and surely will be for some who do afterall rise - still in their sins - but! The adversaries of the cross did suffer fiery judgment.. And the trend of scoffing and, or hating God will actually result in what is known to be a fiery armageddon.
There is nothing in the verse that says or implies unending fiery afterlife torture forever (and ever).
It is simply, it seems to me, that you begin with a lush garden, but stray from God source of life and surely(?) Life itself, and end up with a desert of dust, ashes and smoke of an apocalypse.
