Demons!

This morning, I was slogging thru Matthew, there being a lot more to cover than in the OT, where pages and pages might go by without needed comment.  Of course, I am speaking of my work on "Heaven, Yes - Hell, No."

Anyway, I got to Jesus versus the demons who begged to be allowed to go into the pigs, and realized that these demons, and people possessed by them, were popping up all over - BUT I could not remember reading of them at all in the OT.  What gives?  What are these things, and where did they come from?  They are not explained.  It seems to be a complete mystery.  :dunno2:

  imo the revelation of Christ also has to do with with His revealing of hidden things..making an open show of them,and triumphing

..it also has to do with ...the 'mystery' of iniquity/lawlessness...for which the law was written for the lawless....

I think in the Old Testament there were only signs and clues of the underlying powers of darkness.. principalities and powers, god of this world.. such as witchcraft.. summoning the dead (Samuel?) the the angel in Daniel 10:20 "soon I will return to fight against the prince of Persia, and when I go, the prince of Greece will come" seems to me to be a reference to a principality..?

But in the New Testament Jesus "made an open show of.." visibly "overcoming"  :thumbsup:

 this is also shown in David and Saul's account...Saul/anointed one that was rejected....at the table with David,a man after God's own

  heart.....a bad spirit come upon Saul..for He was rejected of God[if you do  good..will you not be accepted?[Cain/Abel]sin

croucheth at the door..and seeks to master you,but you must master it.

   the religious leaders of the day were rejected of God...the true anointed/heir ..man after God's heart; was present.......and 'bad'

  spirit's were masters/fathers of the rejected.  the love of God is not in you..ye seek to do your father's will..why are you trying

to kill me?...killers,robbers,liars etc=bad spirits/original serpent.


   Now Judas[picturing son of perdition/lawlessness] sat at the table with Jesus[prepared in the presence of mine enemy]and the satan

entered him[mankiller/robber and theif from the beginning]

  part of the law covenant curses for disobedience was your children being possesed by evil spirits/demons.

...this curse for disobedience was built into the tree of KOGAE...the evil[sin] entering through disobedience

   God made man for His spirit to dwell in..tree of life...and forbid Adam from partaking of it[commandment unto life]


    Jesus reverses the curse...stops the 3 day death plague at the threshing floor....fulfill's the royal law.institutes a better

covenant.

   Babylon become a cage of unclean birds..=every foul evil spirit that preys.....

   Atonement performed by Jesus....God's goat[body of sin/man] and Azazel's goat=goat shaped demons of the wilderness that the

High Priest confesses all the sins of the people onto..and it is lead into the wilderness and pushed over a steep cliff/with legs broke

so that it may never enter the Holy city again..............this is the legal authority Jesus had as High Priest making atonement....

tied in to the rebuking of satan..casting out evil spirit's.  Repentance and confession of our sins works in this cleansing process.

      though your sins be as scarlet..yet ye shall be as white as snow[red yarn turn white]

heartfelt  repentance and confession is a pleasant aroma unto the Lord on His altar

Very interesting and I am with you on the  :dontknow: I do not find "demons" in the Bible, I do find "devil(s)" in the OT 4 times with interesting definitions. And "devil(s)" in the NT and can see how we come to use the word "demon." :Peace2:

 :cloud9: The people of the Book went through regular "deliverances" in that they confessed their sins to the priest and did a sacrifice. Therefore there was a different way set up by God to deal with them in the OT and it was only available for the Jews or those "God-fearers" that associated with them. As long as they obeyed Him, they were not likely to need anything else. My  :2c: Blessings....

I think trigger words are a sign of mental programming.  TV programming?  Is that why it is called "programming"? 

All these posts, and I still have no idea what these creatures are.  I even decided that alien greys are demons, but where did they come from, and how did they come to be?  I'm just glad the Lord Jesus is on our side!

These things are an angel, just on the bad side of things.
There are heavenly beings we have yet met.
Christ went into the heavenly temple after his crucifixion.
Ephesians 3;9,10 " To make plain to all what is the administration of the mystery, which was kept hidden for ages in God, Who created all things, in order that now, through the ecclesia, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms."

Eph 2;7 " In order that in the coming ages He may show the incomparable riches of His grace in kindness to us in Christ Jesus."

In the O.T Jacob wrestled with an angel.
The law was given to us by angels. The Jews knew this because Stephen brings up that point before being stoned.
Acts 7;38 " The same came to be in the assembly in the desert, with the messenger who was speaking with him in Mt Sinai, and with our fathers, [he who welcomed living utterances to give to us]."
Acts 7;53 " Who indeed received the law through ranks of messengers, and did not guard it."

Galations 3;19 "Why then the law? It was added because of the transgressions until such time as the seed should come, to whom the promise had been made, and was given in charge through messengers at the hand of a mediator."
In Hebrews Christ was made a little lower than angels.
Plus we have a great cloud of witnesses around us.

Satan will be thrown from heaven with his angels; they will be imposing as angels of light.
2 Cor 11; 13-15  " For such as these are false apostles, deceitful workers, transfiguring themselves into apostles of Christ. And no marvel! For Satan himself does transfigure himself into a messenger of light! Therefore no great thing if his ministers are also transfiguring themselves as ministers of righteousness! Whose end shall be according to their works."

In Revelations satan will be cast out of heaven. I.M.O this will be the antichrist coming to be in the temple, just claiming to be Christ.
He will have angels impersonating people claiming to be people of the past, just will be demons/angels in images of those people who are dead.

I used to attempt to cast out demons along with my brother. He claimed to have a vision of the need to do this.
I am now reminded of the seven sons of Sceva. They attempted to cast out demons.
The demon said to them, ' Christ I know, and Paul I know, but who are you?'
Then he drove them out naked into the streets in terror. [Acts 19;13-16]

I draw strength from the statement of Col 1;13 " He has rescued us out from the tyranny of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of his beloved Son."
2 Separate kingdoms. Both in this world.

Perhaps we hear of them as demons in the New Testament, because Jesus was the one who could truly recognize them for who they were.

  Jesus/ the  salvation of God  come down  , ascended into a lower state  ,  putting on flesh and blood and experienced being human ... [   and  is   still with us in our  being human ]
and suffered greatly   ,  Because JESUS CHRIST was conceived of HOLY SPIRIT  , showing us  How   birthing the Christ is  done [examples in the 4 gospels ]   and  how all the flesh and blood and spirits  that dwell  in flesh and  blood  vex the ONLY TRUE AND HOLY ONE    of GOD

Saying this  because  He said ,  when a man   goes seeking  God , and looking for a sign  of God in the world ..   this is what happens to him , instead of waiting on the Lord to Come to him ...

This  place of being empty prepared by the Lord  and as Paul spoke of  making one a chaste virgin [pure ]   mind for Christ   Holy Clean   Spirit to come and dwell with   them ?   His head  & authority to rule the whole house ..  what is within you ...

What unclean spirits and the fulness of seven [ being completely full of  ]  are running that HOUSE ?
   We are supposed to belong to the House of God !!

It is appointed   for man to die once and then the judgment   the spirit in a man must die so  Jesus Christ Spirit can rule the house     , in adam all die and in Christ shall all  be made alive  , all in that house will live ...

waiting on the Lord ,  He come first to us as an offering   for our sins     and when the house is clean   and empty and waiting on the Lord to come   this 2nd time 

as we wait on Him    ,  patience is throughout the WORD   ...    our faith in Him  holds us till the Lord comes  for refreshing ..

The whole house will be blessed And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you shall be saved, and your house.

   
  We are a city set on a hill , we are a house,  we are his trees planted  by the waters ,  we are the LORDS possession    etc ....

There is no doubt to me that evil /unclean spirits come and  vex us  all to death  , when the SPIRIT OF LIFE suffers for the  wicked ones

He believes Jesus and is set in his right mind ,,,  and fear fell on them  all

Jesus the greatest  in the Kingdom of heaven and servant of all   frees this man of the unclean  spirits  all  robber and thieves before Him  '' ....

   One thing for sure   when you look at the cross you see    the  robber and  thieves    one to the left of JESUS CHRIST IN THE MIDST  and one to  the right  , and the one asking for Jesus  help because he knows what he is   and needs Jesus  and  is saved by Jesus mercy on him   , nothing is ever said of the one  blaspheming  and  wanting him to be a sign  ,  Jesus by prove yourself ,  take  yourself  down and me too  if you are the  True Jesus Christ ....

He only reveals what is necessary to anyone at the time, and some of it depends on their level of fear and/or understanding, and later, maturity.

I think some of it is also His mercy, in that we're held accountable for what we know, and many would never seek to go through another one if they knew what it was, for various reasons, much less share it with their brethren who also need it, which would bring them into accountability. It is interesting that you mentioned that. I have heard a lot of Christians say they don't struggle with certain sins but I have never experience that. I still struggle with the same sins nothing really has change except I know that they are sins. Is anyone here on the same boat?

Yep; still struggle.
Difference being the desire to change is ever increasing; fortunately the key being that Christ covers everything.
Paul talks about his struggle in Romans 7; Then makes the statement of statements in chapter 8

There is NO condemnation to those in Christ Jesus.....

For me, the concept of taking up the  cross daily is the reminder of being paid for IN FULL by Christ. His faith has saved me- mine is being developed as He leads and corrects. The flesh is always there till the resurrection, so will always have these temporary setbacks.
