Isn't there a scripture something like, "all souls belong to me." My mind is dozey at the moment.  :Chinscratch:

micah7:9

Eze 18:4  Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.

Why do people like Hitler deserve to be saved?

Because he is a child of God and only knew what God gave him. He was a vessel of dishonour (Rom. 9:21).  I think God used Hitler just like he used Pharaoh. Maybe to show forth his mercy by saving Hitler. We have all been misguided at one time or another about different things, and there isn't any big or small sins in God's eyes, all are sins.

Yes, DOUBLE Amen. And not just Hitler. Also Hussein, Genghis Khan, Stalin and so many more in fulfilling God's purpose even though it is some time hard for our limited minds to understand why in many cases. :dontknow:

But God knows the end from the beginning. All for His grand purpose. All is of God.  :declare:
3 John 4 - I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.

Yes, no matter how bad someone is, God is always that much better.

Because God wants it. Ask Paul the former Saul who murdered many Christians.
1 Timothy 2:3-4  ...God our Savior;  Who will have all men to be saved...
John 12:47  And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
Romans 4:5 But to the one who does not work, but believes in the one who declares the ungodly righteous ...

Does "deserve" = "earn" or "merit?"

Only reason I ask is because ETers often claim that we don't deserve God's grace, because we did not earn it, that he gives it because he is good even when we were not, and chose us before we chose him. Only, they limit this to themselves not the whole world.

micah7:9

There is no "deserve." Should there be anyone who deserves, please scripture and verse. :dsunny:

Grace = unmerited favor.  Unmerited, because none of us are good enough.  Favor, because God so loved the world, that He gave...
Socrates taught Plato.  Plato taught Aristotle.  Aristotle tutored the son of Philip of Macedon.  This boy grew up to become Alexander the Great, largely by slaughtering a lot of people.  That's philosophy.

Jesus spoke the Truth.  He blessed the poor.  He healed the sick.  He even raised the dead.  He died on a cross for us, lived again, and came back long enough to tell us to love one another.  That's religion.

I agree. There are those who overcome and inherit, but they only do it according to power given to them of a higher Authority who made his choices before they were born, and eventually all will be saved because that's his choice too. We deserve nothing, but we gain everything.

Sure beats deserving everything, and gaining nothing!

Given GRACE to man, found by Noah in the Eyes of the Lord..is the very reason and purpose that the Lord Jehovah The Creator can and does have reason to work with the very clay of man.  He, the Lord announced Grace, so than man would KNOW that the Creator was ABEL!
The ugliness of the human clay man, and all his/her ugliness, with great wisdom... the Lord has considered, can I beat that......no. The Lord is very much in the know of the "Hitlers, Hussains, Mansons, of humans.......... we think so small. The Lord is Good. :HeartThrob:

Some clay does, and it's the first step to repentance.

Hitler deserves it for the same reason our own sons or daughters deserves our love. NOTHING would ever make me stop loving my children, and yearning for them to have abundant lives. There is nothing they could do to earn my love, because they always have it, they always have and they always will. My love for them was and is and is to come. How much more so does our Father love His children, the "fruit of His loins", however wayward?

In fact it was after my daughter was born that I truly couldn't stand the notion of this eternal hell anymore. I had met God, I knew His great love and His goodness, and now that I was experiencing my own parenthood I just knew there surely was no way God could ever send any of His creation to this "eternal torment". I prayed for answers and He gave them. Truly, He is Love.

As a PS;

I truly believe it is the consequences of our own actions that cause us the most torment. I believe a large part of Hitlers torment will be knowing, at least in part, the pain he has caused to many. I believe my torment will be the same.  :2c:

...amen.. "the soul that sins shall die" - I believe it is simply the natural course and results.. I think this because I believe God is life, itself, the life force.. And it seems logical to me that He is also Perfection.. And therefor, to be imperfect is the opposite of  life..

:iagree:  :iagree: especially with - "..vessel of dishonour (Rom. 9:21)" ..why is there the two? the elect and the non-elect?

Since it is by God's choice and none of ours!!? I have to think it is for drama's sake..
And how wonderful that into the eternities of eternity, it will all even out.. "All" will be full of joy, etc! :dsunny:

...and what learning for all of us, when we see and comprehend the horror of sin.. especially if we were to witness the weeping and torments of those non-elect on a final Judgment Day, reviewing mankind's history thereby..

.."no big or small sins in God's eyes, all are sins." - I agree the result is the same..

I believe once one wanders from God in any teeny, tiny way, they become imperfect/in-error/corrupt/sinful.. and also believe the depths to which any such a one can fall is an abyss and bottomless pit, with no limit to how low one can go, how very, very far they can fall.. and the beginning? a speck! a tiny particle of wandering from God!!! ...shudder :sigh:

Hence the Hitlers, Pol Pots, Mao, Mussolini, father Stalin.. babies placed live in fire as sacrifices to 'the gods'..
war.. pestilence.. famine.. the mass grave...

If we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

One benefit of forgiveness is no torment.

As part of this discussion, I need to remind everyone that Hitler was demonized as a part of a political agenda by his enemies.  It is an all-too-true truism to say that history is written by the victors.  If you look beyond the History 101 level of things, something I often stress, you will find that Hitler did a lot of good things for his country, like restoring full employment.  The war was not started by Germany or by the order of Hitler, but by an aggressive Poland, egged on by the Western Powers, who, once the war began, threw Poland under the bus.  History is not always what we are taught in school, nor are historical figures either as evil or as good as often depicted.  :Chinscratch:
