Hell people?

I'm not so sure that I believe in hell anymore, I did believe in hell wholeheartedly for most of my life, but the hell i read and understand now is not the fiery eternal tormenting hell i once believed in. I'm trying to understand things, from the perspective of tentmaker members educated understanding of scripture, that is all.

Evil is judged in many ways, in this life, and in the age to come. The salvation of all is not about the absence of judgment- it is about the eventual outcome of judgment being redemption.

If you read 1 Cor 15, you see that EVRY ADVERSARY will be subjected to Christ so that God may become ALL IN ALL. That subjection process will include intense correction for some. But the end of that correction is redemption, when the last knee bows(Phil 2:10) and the last adversaRY, death, is destroyed, then there will be only LIFE IN THE ALL IN ALL OF GOD. But notice, the last adversary IS DEATH. As long as there is death THERE IS JUDGMENT- but as the scripture says, MERCY TRIUMPHS OVER JUDGMENT. THE LIGHT SHINES IN THE DARKNESS AND THE DARKNESS CANNOT OVERCOME IT. The end of all things is life for all- but many have incurred, in this life, heavy judgment, and there will be judgment in the age to come.

The thing is that the end of that judgment is the revelation of every hidden thing and the destruction of all darkness by light. Light is fire to darkness. Jesus said "EVRY THING THAT IS HIDDEN WILL BE BROUGHT TO LIGHT", and as you may know(we all do actually) the process of bringing our darkness into the light can be PAINFUL and sometimes it is DISCIPLINARY.

For this reason there is MUCH BENEFIT in repenting, and seeking life in the light- transparent before God and forgiven through Jesus Christ.

To add on to Eaglesway's good explanation, I'll provide my answer in the most nutshelly way possible. By God's wrath, he turned man over to his own sin (Romans 1). Jesus came to save people from sin (Matt 1:21). The way to be saved from sin is by the power of the Holy Spirit which is a gift given to those who have faith (Titus 2 and 3). Everyone will eventually repent and be delivered from sin, but there are two ways to achieve that end: either through growing in grace, or God allowing sin to destroy those who are stubborn, like the prodigal son. It's better to grow in grace.

I have more info on all this here if you like: http://mercifultruth.com/links-savedbygrace.html

Nobody but nobody will be saved but by repentance and humility. Best to repent rather than be judged. As Paul said, judge (krino) yourselves now rather than be condemned (katakrino - down judged) with the world (1 Cor 11:31-32)

Is there anything more important to a living being than to know his creature.
The creature loves and inspires Love in his creation.
To go through life not knowing this is a life not worth saving

The beauty of knowing Jesus is alone worth knowing more than life itself.

"....if everyone eventually gets saved?"

Probably my error, but that is the question always asked by those who believe in ET. :sigh:

Revelation chapter 20 speaks of a "first resurrection" and then says "the rest of the dead live not agian until the thousand years are ended".. and Jesus said to the paharisees.. "Unless you repent you will die in your sins"

imo, to die in their sins is to miss the glory of the 1st resurrection and rise agains still in your sins.. and in the presence of God Most Holy..

I do believe the 2nd resurrection will 'catch up' to the first however! But.. why miss the 1st if we don't have to.. for an et'er or anyone for that matter who believes it terrible ppl like hitler, pol pot, stalin.. etc be saved.. well at least there will be 'weeping and gnashing of teeth" all in God's Most Holy Presence at the 2nd resurrection.. so, imo, intense indeed, not a joyful resurrection.. unless we count being alive again! which I do suppose will be some good news to some.. In between the cringing and weeping and gnashing of teeth..

Well yeah, it is not easy to just simply let go of so much teaching and indoctrination that has transpired over a lifetime, and simply accept something you don't know much about.

When one spends a lifetime hearing things preached and taught under one orthodox form of understanding, and you believe that it is the Holy Spirit helping you to understand these things, and then you hear or your learn of someone else proclaiming a different Gospel News from the one you have heard, it is of utmost importance that you be careful. It is by no means an easy feat to escape the mainstream Christianity paradigms, right?

  Hi    R  Gonzo
Brother in Christ , ,

I am   for one, glad ,  that  you are cautious ,
It took me many years to come to the "faith " that God will save all mankind
and was one who looked and searched and listened and   prayed and asked the Lord Himself    in  the shower  , on the lawnmower  , in bed before sleep
many questions     , many  so very many   questions    , and its did not come over night
It was a process of two steps forward and three steps  backing away    , and  one forward etc .....     I actually "struggled with it "

I do have   compassion on you       and understand more than you know , going into things that have never entered your mind before .

I want you to know though      that your deep searching will not be for nothing    , sometimes your just not ready to receive it    and it   will come the answers you    are seeking shall be found        , I do not think we should take anyone's word  for it
But look for yourself      the Lord promises  the Holy Spirit of teaching and   growing in truth and grace     with a comfort  that     no man can   give !!

I am  glad you are here and embrace your questions  , same ones I have or had or   maybe never  have thought of before     .
This is a good place    and if offenses  come , I am sure      they can be resolved quickly

John our Brother    moderator is   a  peacemaker        , them are the only kind  to trust   if you ask me , because their LOVE  supersedes their need for knowledge  and always being right

Sometimes you got to take the lower seat to"  Lift up the Lord " in other brother s and sisters      in order  for Him/Jesus  to draw us   even closer to His Body the True Church

I am just now learning to just take the wrong without being riled up or go off in disappointment  :mblush:    the Lord  Jesus has been so patient with me   ,  its   a shame it took this long
  to "get it "
But we are happy to have  you and hope you stay , so very many  come and go    over the years
Understanding the Love of God is a  life long process  that some never begin to   grasp
If you can believe that Gods  work and  plan is perfect and cannot fail and    understand its Him we trust and not ourselves  you have something there  to   hold on too and a great start  /foundation ,  that Jesus Christ is the Son of God   ,   He will     open up the  windows of heaven  to fill   you up   a vessel for the Masters use

so   holy hugs    to you RG  today  !!   :HeartThrob:

Those standing at the back of the church who don't attend regularly
are the ones hoping there is no Hell.

It's the ones at the front of the church that know there is a Hell

You may be right about the folks in the back, but the ones in the front are wrong.

I believe there are probably more than a few in the front who hope that there is no hell or at least that God's mercy will prevail. I was one of them.

..if everyone eventually gets saved?

Besides the fact that we don't know how much longer this eon will last, the next one is said to last a thousand years, and we don't know how long the one after that will last. That's a lot of time that you could be enjoying life blessed with love and joy and peace and no death in the next two eons if you're in Christ, and that's not to mention the specific purpose we have been chosen for in the next two eons. We are ambassadors of Christ chosen to minister in the celestial realm. What is promised in scripture to believers is not eternal life but eonian life. That is unending life beginning in the next two eons until the consummation when all mankind will be made alive to never die again. Nothing is said about what happens after that except that God will be all in all, and that is sufficient. So there is much to be gained by being in Christ for the last two eons, and we want as many people as possible to be there with us.

Been there, done that. Wasn't fun. I remember feeling overwhelmed, apprehensive, frustrated by so many questions, and VERY HAPPY to be released from the darkness of ET!
