i thought of, what if a believer in universalism commits alot of sins willfully believing he goes to heaven anyway, won't such a person deserve an immense punishment?
won't for such a person, annihilation not be better if the punishment might be extreme immense - what are your thoughts about this?

1. If you believed in extreme, immense punishment... then annihilation STILL wouldn't be better, because if the extreme, immense punishment had a time limit, then that person would one day be free from it. Eternity is a really long time... :laughing7: and it would be worth it to go through the extreme punishment than to just be vaporized.
2. I don't believe in extreme, intense punishment. God is love. Perfect love casts out all fear. There is nothing to fear. Judgement seeks to teach, not punish. I can imagine all of us commit a lot of sins right now. Those who think they don't are not looking clearly enough at theirselves. There are lots of little things that we do that we don't even realize. We're all trudging through this world to learn. God wants us to learn. Sin, judgement... it's all here for us to LEARN. about Love.
3. No, that person wouldn't deserve an immense punishment. They would deserve pity. Because when they realize how loving God is, they will sorrow over their choices. That would be punishment, enough. Plus, if they willfully committed sins thinking they can just do any ol' thing and it's ok because I'm going to heaven.... woo hoo! I'm going to have a field day and do all this sinning... they are ignorant. Ignorant of the way things really are. They see negative things as positive.
Their view is skewed, backwards.... Sin leads to suffering. Sin is taking "love" out of your life. We all know the most powerful thing in this world is love. Without love, all is vanity/dead ends/shallow nothingness.
