Sam Shamoun (an Assyrian Catholic and former Calvinist) said annihilationism and universalism are unique to Protestantism, and were never taught in Eastern Orthodoxy, Catholicism, the Coptic church, or the Church of the East.

All these "religions " are based upon their own beliefs and traditions.
None of these is correct- east or west differ, but looking at their definition of God, for me, highlights that they so far away from the truth because this is not their time, or calling, to know the truth that sets us free.
Looking at universalism also exposes different definition of God. Some know the concept yet are still in bondage to the law. Christ came to set us free from the law of sin and death: HE DID NOT FAIL.
Love never fails.
Just that many will not find this truth until they have died.
There will be the second death after these folk have been shown this truth.
Part of the glorious future for ALL.

Oh yes, I think Truth is very uncomplicated, basically lol, but we humans make it complicated. Jesus said, ?All those in the tombs/graves will hear God?s voice and will come forth? (from the graves/tombs) ?some into the resurrection of life? (into THE millennium, to serve called reigning? for to do His works.. crown of Life, not metal.. during his long second advent, a full scope version of his so brief first one?).. ?And some, into the resurrection of (the GWT) judgment? ?day? (Jn.5:28-29, part of his second advent) which elsewhere He calls agelasting correction [?kolasin aionion? oR ?korrection eonian?] Mt.25:46, logically, the completing of - ?drawing all? - Jn.12:32! And surely(?) it?s a same process of refinement/correction for all. The crucible being life as we presently know it - this unavoidable, all important contrast - until vivification either at 1Cor.15:52,53 or at Rev.21:5, 1Cor.15:24-28. (We shall have character that is clear as crystal. Humanity and creation sealed and saturated with God?s Spirit/Presence. The dis-ease as part of the cure? ..And immunity..)
