EBRLuke 19
27 But, these mine enemies who desired not that I should be made king over them, bring ye here, and slay them outright before me.
Not a very loving UR supporting verse. Or?
There's nothing about burning anyone forever in that verse, either.
True, but neither is it of the love your enemy type.
It's a parable.
But God will not be mocked.
2 Chronicles 36:16
But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and misused his prophets, until the wrath of the LORD arose against his people, till there was no remedy.
The true enemy is DEATH, death is the carnal mind which persists to be ABOVE the TRUTH HE IS, he WILL SLAY THAT beast leviathan and cast it BACK INTO the sea -[ THE REALM OF DEATH] for HE makes Enemies His Footstool
IT gets BETTER
[[A Psalm of David.]] The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.
Heaven [is] my throne, and earth [is] my footstool: what house will ye build me? saith the Lord: or what [is] the place of my rest?
EARTH IS HIS footstool upon which HE ""RESTS" HIS FEET -
Rom 5:10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
HOW does he MAKE enemies his Footstool? through the power of the Cross - those ENEMIES IN DEATH[ LIKE SAUL] who becomes PAUL, become PART of HIS FEET of BRASS[ through JUDGMENT] -WHo now REST in HIM while -- [ even in the Physical THE FEET are in contact with the EARTh] THEMSELVES THROUGH HIM preach the gospel :icon_flower:
WOW FEET which Preach PTL --- :icon_flower:
Rom 10:15 And how shall they preach , except they be sent ? as it is written , How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace , and bring glad tidings of good things !
Eph 6:15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace
mankind\ADAM\SOUL HAS BEEN THE ENEMYsince the garden ,as DEATH is the enemy of the LORD who is TRUTH and LIFE :icon_flower:

True, but neither is it of the love your enemy type.
Love those who are still IN DEATH[ as they too oneday will become your brother] :icon_flower:
If we don't die to ourselves. If we don't take up our cross, God will take you there. We automatically read slay, kill as bad, and they are to our carnal nature, but obviously its the way back to life.
"Therefore wait for Me," declares the LORD,
"For the day when I rise up as a witness.
Indeed, My decision is to gather nations,
To assemble kingdoms,
To pour out on them My indignation,
All My burning anger;
For all the earth will be devoured
By the fire of My zeal.
(ET's should stop reading right now :Sparkletooth:)
9"For then I will give to the peoples purified lips,
That all of them may call on the name of the LORD,
To serve Him shoulder to shoulder.

So the verse in not about literally salying people but killing their carnal mind?

Ships are the souls of MEN---Job speaks His DAYS[ human\soul are swift as ships--The GREAT waters are the TRIALS of being in the death HUMANITY- away and absent from the LORD-- its such TRIALS which BRING us BACK-- The LORD if in FULL control of US, never leaves US, even when we walk away from HIM- PRAISE HIS"GREAT NAME"
This Psalms sums it up perefectly
Pslams 107 – 23They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters; 24These see the works of the LORD, and his wonders in the deep. 25For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof. 26They mount up to the heaven, they go down again to the depths: their
soul is melted because of trouble. 27They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wit's end. 28Then they
cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and
he bringeth them out of their distresses. 29He
maketh the storm a calm, so that the
waves thereof are still. 30Then are they glad because they be quiet; so
he bringeth them unto their desired haven. 31Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men :icon_flower: :icon_flower: :icon_flower: :icon_flower: :icon_flower: :icon_flower: :icon_flower: :icon_flower: :icon_flower: :icon_flower: :icon_flower: :icon_flower: :icon_flower: :icon_flower: :icon_flower: :icon_flower: :icon_flower: :icon_flower: :icon_flower:

AMEN-- for what good is it to SLAY JUST the BODY when the CAUSE of DEATH [ EVE oUr SOUL]is WITHIN? :icon_flower:
Ok, I can accept that. It seems inline with other teachings.
Of course I really doubted the verse is really about killing people. But it never crossed my mind Jesus ordered to slay carnal minds.
Next step....
Are those people slayed when they appear before Jesus. Or are they before Jesus because they are already slayed?
It also seems Jesus is not the slayer. The slayers are (HS inspired) teachers?

Death the enemy was slain at the Cross -each man to LIFE in HIS won ORDER
- One Needs an AWAKENING - IF you will -The slaying comes when He draws us, slaying and its this MIND we PUT to death by BEING baptised INTO HIS death, as HE DIED for our VERY CARNAL MIND and the enmity of it, THE mind\soul WHICH WAS bIRTHED INTHE the Garden -.. SO WE DIE WITH Him,, TO BE RAISED with HIM IN THE NEWNESS OF life AND THE RENEWING OF our mind--- Christ is ALWAYS the SLAYER within those who are HIS teachers..likened to Ministers of FLAME , its THROUGH suchMinistry He BRINGS more SONS to GLORY---
each man\WE ARE ALL adam- is drawn in HIS order and is slain accordingly-- made ALIVE through the SECOND ADAM :icon_flower:
It's a parable about those who reject him. He's predicting the destruction of Jerusalem and the Jews.
41And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it,
42Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes.
43For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side,
44And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.

yes, I have no problem with that.
I'm just always so impressed with the tenderness of Jesus. Here is he weeping over these people who are bringing on their own destruction by rejecting him. It was one thing to reject and kill prophet after prophet, but they have the audacity to reject the King himself.
12He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.
13And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.
14But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us.
--Luke 19
EZE 22:17 The word of the Lord came to me: 22:18 "Son of man, the house of Israel has become slag to me. All of them are like bronze, tin, iron, and lead in the furnace; 28 they are the worthless slag of silver. 22:19 Therefore this is what the sovereign Lord says: 'Because all of you 29 have become slag, look out! – I am about to gather you in the middle of Jerusalem. 30 22:20 As silver, bronze, iron, lead, and tin are gathered in a furnace so that the fire can melt them, so I will gather you in my anger and in my rage. I will deposit you there 31 and melt you. 22:21 I will gather you and blow on you with the fire of my fury, and you will be melted in it. 22:22 As silver is melted in a furnace, so you will be melted in it, and you will know that I, the Lord, have poured out my anger on you.'"
The word anger is nostril, as in flaring nostrils, most times associated with burning anger, I think of burning breath. But it makes me think of the breath of life (the same word is used when God breathes into adams nostrils). His breath gives life and "kills". (Same word for angry as in Zephaniah passage I just posted).
