It's difficult to break free until you really see how absurd the notion is.

what do y'all think?

One of the better ways IMO to get past your fear here is to listen deep in your heart and study scripture asking for truth.

Thats sounds easy and I do not want to make light of a subject that appears to haunt people.   I have never feared Hell and I grew up in a fire and brimstone environment, I grew up being told how bad and unworthy I was, being told the devil was in me when I was bad.

The effect on me was a life of never feeling I was worth anything and that no one could like me.  My point is not to draw pity for my own life, it is to point out that incorrect teaching did not instill the JOY in the Lord that the bible promises.

So what does that mean?   Does it mean we should have this perfect utopian life if we were taught something correct?   No,  it means the correct teaching will instill a joy despite the world we live in and the unseen aspects of the future.

I struggle with finding Joy, but I can say that I see a glimpse of the Joy in Gods righteous judgment because that is Gods Character.  I see in my own life where I suffered greatly only to be able to grow, where God has shown me that I have worth and that the "devil" is not in me, I simply am in a world of Sin that will one day be completely overcome.

I won't tell you that you can just turn off your fear as easy as it may appear for others.  Where I am at did not happen quickly nor did it happen easily.   I still struggle at times but I am continually reminded that Gods love never fails, so what could make it fail?

micah7:9

I believe there are many stephen kings out in the orthodox
church world who have a real need to keep people
freaked out about a place of eternal torment; who have a real need
to keep the LOVE of God in all His fullness away from the ears
of those who, should they have a preacher ..."hear" the GOOD NEWS
and rejoice in HIS LOVE.

:goodpost:..Hey everybody, let's all pray for our sis Andro...  a lot of us have been there (or still are to varying degrees)...we can help carry the burden, because we know...

I agree with Paul about listening to our heart.. I believe, somewhere, deep down inside most if not all, there's a spot, maybe a little bitty one, where we know ET's not true...that it doesn't fit with a God Who not only loves, but is love...God's blessing, James.
The oldest known manuscripts agree with each other 99% of the time.  The scriptures, accurately translated, Spirit revealed - reliable.   Looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith.  Heb. 12:2

That must have been very uncomfortable. Especially in summer.
