Admittedly, research is challenging when it comes to finding details on who exactly G. T. Stevenson was, his general background, and when the book was published, — though there is a hint in the book that leads us to believe it was circa 1977. Analysis seems only to turn up that he was from Victoria, Australia, and that the book was first published by Champion Press of Victoria. For US distribution, it was provided at the time by Concordant Publishing Concern of California. A reasonable hypothesis is that Stevenson was an Australian lay scholar, probably associated with Concordant circles.

[Editor’s note (2026): Greek transliterations have been updated throughout from Erasmian to Neo-Hellenic Koine. See our article titled Erasmus Never Used Erasmian Greek for further explanation. As reference, the two key Greek words αἰών and αἰώνιος are transliterated as — Erasmian: aion/aionios; Neo-Hellenic Koine: eón/eónios. In addition, we have standardized any scriptural references according to modern CMOS/SBL standards. These are the only edits made throughout.]
