The Letter of the Law Kills; it is the Spirit that gives life.
Millions upon millions of Christians have been seduced into living “under the law of Moses” which can only produce death. The Mosaic Covenant and the New Covenant are entirely different. See Comparing the New and Old Covenants A lengthier version showing all the scripture references can be found at Old and New Covenants Also see The Pillar Laws of the New Covenant
This HUGE error has riddled almost the entire church. Living UNDER the Mosaic Law is DEATH. Living IN the Law of the Spirit of the life IN Christ Jesus is LIFE. When Jesus said,
“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.” (John 13:34) and
“You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor[8] and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven.” (Matt. 5:43-45)
“Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me.” (John 13:34)
The Mosaic Covenant is a Covenant between God and a fleshly nation that broke the covenant the first day it was made. Man is incapable of keeping covenant with God. It is only pride that thinks it can keep one’s word or a promise with God. However, the New Covenant is a covenant between God the Father and God the Son on behalf of man who was locked up in sinful death and unbelief. In Adam all died, there was none righteous, there was NONE able to keep the Mosaic law. There are millions of Jews and Christians who think they are “keeping the law” when in actuality, they are blind to their own law-breaking and self-righteousness. As a result, they have to heap tons of condemnation and guilt upon others to make themselves feel a semblance of “righteousness” by making others look bad according to their own interpretations of “the law.” And each of these “law-keepers” chops up “the law” in such a way to elevate themselves while condemning others. They not only judge others according to their own interpretation and understanding of “the law,” they project on to God their own ideas of righteousness and holiness making God to look like a hypocrite to the average decent person. “Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees which is hypocrisy.” (Luke 12:1)
Ask the Holy Spirit to teach you about the “Law of the Spirit IN the LIFE of Christ Jesus.” Live IN Christ, not UNDER the Law of Moses.

This is the right blog for anyone who wants to find out about this topic. You realize so much its almost hard to argue with you. You definitely put a new spin on a topic thats been written about for years. Great stuff, just great!
Hi there! Such a wonderful post, thank you!
This was exactly the message I were trying to convey in my posts.
Bro. Gary, the Holy Spirit has definitely been working through you.
God bless you for this powerful and highly anointed, yet widely
persecuted Truth. May the Lord increase your ministry and wisdom.
As for Bro. Clark: you’ve added nothing different from what Bro.
Gary had already eloquently covered in this teaching. The Law
of Christ (Love) and the Royal Commandments are both one
and the same. Plus the article is titled, ‘Law of Moses Verses
Law of Jesus(Love)’…thus, that is the topic of this lesson. The
purpose of the two Laws is not the topic. In either event,
you’ve still shared a biblical truth that is vital and valuable.
God bless you as well. May your faith and faithfulness multiple.
Well said Gary but may I just add this?
The Law was a mirror that showed us our sinfulness and we couldn’t live up to it and still can’t entirely save by the loving grace and long suffering of the Lord toward us . How can we, while still in these corruptible bodies of ours, but that is not to say that we shouldn’t take care of them because after all they are the Temple of the Holy Spirit within us and by His grace we grow in the likeness of Christ daily as we move toward the light from darkness.
Don’t get me wrong, reading the Ten Commandments is not a bad thing and we’d all do well to do so but as you have said there is more love in the Spirit of the Law than in the letter of it. Consider the Royal Commandment to love God with our entire being and our neighbor as ourselves, which by the way is the Ten Commandments all rolled up into two.
