One and eleven

Ok I was always curious about this, the word "one" in certain places for instance...

Duet 6:4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God [is] one LORD


The word "one" here is 'echad

1) one (number)

a) one (number)

b) each, every

c) a certain

d) an (indefinite article)

e) only, once, once for all

f) one...another, the one...the other, one after another, one by one

g) first

h) eleven (in combination), eleventh (ordinal)

Why would the number "eleven" even come into the picture under the definition of "one"? Is there any sigificance in its appearance under the definition that I could be missing?

This always bugged me, I thought I'd put it out there, I ponder some stuff but Im often wrong... sorta like the "eleven curtains" which were all of ONE measure. Im thinking, "maybe theres some spiritual significance elsewhere in the scripture which would further clarify the reason why its found in the definition itself? I can think of things but nothing solid, so Im asking if yall have any thoughts on this or is it something so utterly simple Im really overlooking it  :grin:

Ok you need to tell me this again, Im not catching it Im behind here  :grin: 1+1=2 but 1 and 1 beside each other is 11 (got that) lol and I see the the body of Christ even the eleven being all of the same measure (Christ) as the church is built upon the foundation of such but explain to me the part with Peter I want to get that one.

Heres why I ask, if you would look at this and catch the number 3 instead of eleven a catholic might say "see thats where the trinity is in the number one" right?  :grin: But suprisingly eleven is there and as you pointed out the eleven and one is shown elsewhere, and its there I was wondering if the significance of it lies anywhere, or whether it was a hebrew thang because that is always a possibility Im not catching onto, like what you first showed with the 1 and the 1

twin towers...  :grin: Im still laughing at that one, I can imagine sitting in with the apostles and asking "Sirs why is "one" for the Lord is one associated with the number eleven, and they say, "the twin towers, yanno, 1 and 1 is like 2 1's standing next to each other and well...there ya have it!  :grin:
