Before I got E-Sword I did all my studying with printed references ..... I first started my studying with the NASB and had a printed concordance to go along with it

In the front of it, it explained that words that had no strong's number next to them were words that were added to finish a thought in the English translation

Did you know that in 98% to 99% of the time there were no numbers next to these words when it referenced verses, just long blank columns ..... one of those verses is John 3:17 "For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved"

Now take out the word "might" that was added and you get "but that the world through Him be saved"

The words "may" and "might" can always place doubt into the minds of a person (child/immature) of the word, but take out what was added and there is no doubt of the matter

Man's finished work can always be doubted, the finished work of Christ cannot ..... Let His Spirit guide us in His Word, not men

regarding 'adding' unto the revelation of Jesus Christ. Rev 22;18,19.....we get spiritual plagues/sickness from doubt/

confusion..when we repent not of the works of our hands[gospel based on men's works salvation]and fail[take away]

to glorify God and the work of His hands....mine own arm will work salvation for me[Jesus right arm/hand of God]

The Father is doing His works through me.    :2c:

:2c: my mind is overwhelmed of so many scriptures coming to me. Jezebel's sickbed..leading to death...as she teaches

His people to eat things offered unto idols[works of men's hands]  which will lead to death/not TOL unless she repent.

I believe the "might" comes from the koine for "saved" being in the subjunctive mood, which states possibility (though this is somewhat of a simplification when it comes to the subjunctive too). Greek verbs convey a lot in one word, so the word "sothe" conveys "might be saved" as the subjunctive passive of "sozo", rather than there being a Greek word for each English word.

1 Timothy 2:3-4  ...God our Savior;  Who will have all men to be saved...
John 12:47  And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
Romans 4:5 But to the one who does not work, but believes in the one who declares the ungodly righteous ...

Might means 'have permission to do something'.
Jesus life gave Him permission to save the doomed kosmos/system/earth.
Every denomination agrees Jesus is the Savior.

For me the word kosmos is the most URish word of the verse and context.
Kosmos is the word that's about the largest possible group. It most certainly includes earth. Likely also every astronaut on another planet.

Anyway the extremely wide word kosmos is used while words like 'believer', 'Jews', 'Christians', 'some', 'elect', etc could have been used.
According to the theology of many that would have been far more accurate. But still Scripture uses the biggest possible group kosmos. The kosmos includes pagans. Even those nasty Roman oppressors.

Jesus had/has permission, authority, to save the kosmos. So while it can be argued some people simply refuse to be saved or something like that the verse itself is very UR.
Refutation of UR can't be found in this verse. On the contrary it supports it.
Simply because kosmos = all
1 Timothy 2:3-4  ...God our Savior;  Who will have all men to be saved...
John 12:47  And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
Romans 4:5 But to the one who does not work, but believes in the one who declares the ungodly righteous ...

But how many people know or even believe that is what it means

to the unlearned, the word "might" is a grey area .... it might happen .... it might not happen

To be understood with no margin for error, it should have been translated in the context of "have permission to do something"

my whole point is ..... until people are granted repentance (to think differently) how they understand the meaning of a word remains

God's "might" is mighty :0)

I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, 'My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.'

For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, 20and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.

That's a chicken and egg question.

Father wants everyone to be saved, come to the truth, know Him etc. That little fact alone is proof for UR because man has free will according to many. Father has free will too. If those free wills collide who's gonna win the battle.....?

Father uses Jesus as tool (no disrespect intended) to enforce His will. Will Jesus accomplish His mission or will He get 5% will satan takes 95% of the stake. Satan is king and Jesus barely manages to gets some scraps. Is Jesus a little poodle or a mighty lion?

Salvation is  a gift from Father.
That gift is accepted giving honor to the Son.
But who gives that honor isn't determined by the person. It's the HS that makes the person say that.
When the HS is trying to do that who will overpower who?

It's about another verse but I think it's quite relevant for this topic. Quoting myself:

Hebrews 9: 27 And inasmuch as it is reserved to men once to die, and after this, judgment,
---> The classic verse to prove there is no chance for salvation after death.

Romans 14:11 For it is written, [As] I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.
---> Maybe they make fake confessions to escape hell?
---> That can only be true if the Holy Spirit inspires lies and fake confessions....

1 Corinthians 12:3 Therefore I make known to you, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God says, Jesus is accursed, and no man can say, Jesus is Lord, except by Holy Spirit.
---> That's very clear; all who kneel do so because the Holy Spirit dwells within them. So the kneeling is a genuine confession...
---> Note that this is also the case before death.
---> But maybe it's to late anyway?

Romans 10:9 that if thou will confess with thy mouth, Lord Jesus, and will believe in thy heart that God raised him from the dead, thou will be saved.
---> Short recap: Everyone will make a true confession and at that point they will be saved. Obviously mrs muslim and mr. satanist never confesed in this life. Yet they are part of "everyone".
---> Ergo there is a chance after death. Ergo salvation after death is a Holy Spirit enforced fact for those groups.

---> Finally all the above are unconditional statements. But if there is still doubt....
Isaiah 45: 23 By myself I have sworn, the word has gone forth from my mouth [in] righteousness, and shall not return, that to me every knee shall bow, every tongue will confess to God.

Was theFather a bit overconfident? Should the verse read
"5% of all knees will bow to Me and 95% will bow to false gods who outsmarted Me"?
1 Timothy 2:3-4  ...God our Savior;  Who will have all men to be saved...
John 12:47  And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
Romans 4:5 But to the one who does not work, but believes in the one who declares the ungodly righteous ...
