I've been reflecting/praying a great deal about "words"... individual words can mean so many different things and often times get in the way of communicating truth, love, etc.

I started a list and will be adding to it (yes, we women do keep lists!!)

God's Word (ONE)   see John 1:14; Rev 19:13
creates    (John 1:1-3)
heals  (Mark 1:41)
teaches truth

....

man's word (many)
creates/destroys
heals/harms; injures;/wounds
teaches truth/teaches error

I smiled as I began reading "my" five favorite devotionals for today and felt led to share such encouraging/ faith-building words... from men who lift up Jesus Christ Who is the Word of God

from Ray Prinzing (my favorite UR writer)
Daily Overcoming for Sept 4

Labourers together with God   (1 Cor 3:7-9)

...
The ministry is the ministry of THE WORD, not of preaching, ...but rather a fulfilling of the thoughts, intents, purposes of God.  The doing is the result of BEING, for having become His will, it follows that whatever action is taken is then a fulfilling of His will.

... The WORD does not work "for" God, it does the work OF God.  Therefore there has been much stripping, until we have been brought to nothing in ourselves, that He might fill us with Himself, and instruct us, euip us to do His work as He purposes for it to be done.

God chose to manifest Himself through the WORD, His Son, Jesus Christ, and He is the Way, the Truth, and the life, back to the Father again.  God also chooses to manifest Himself through "His sons," all those who have been conformed to the image of The Son.  One thing is sure, we are gaining an experimental knowledge of the fact that "the son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do."  John 5:19.  Only in the measure that the Father shows His sons, can they do His work.

HIS!

...
"You are not your own" (1 Cor 6:19).  To say, "I am not my own," is to have reached a high point in my spiritual stature.   ... The Holy Spirit interprets and explains the nature of Jesus to me to make me one with my Lord, not that I might simply become a trophy for His showcase.  Our Lord never sent any of His disciples out on the basis of what He had done for them.  It was not until after His RESURRECTION, when the disciples had  perceived through  the power of the Holy Spirit WHO JESUS REALLY WAS, that He said,  "Go" (Matt 28:19; Luke 24:49; Acts 1:8)

Simply  precious dear Anna.   :HeartThrob:

We are the product of his Word. How we Live and Love it's the reflection we give Father of the value of his Word.

Love Julie    :HeartThrob:

Good word, Anna.   :iagree: with your definition of man's word.  I notice you used the words "destroys, harms, wounds, teaches error."  I believe these words define "evil."  So therefore, man's word is evil.  Consider man's distorted "gospel."  I used to think it harsh to boldly call it evil.  But it is what it is - the distorted gospel of fear, the doctrine of eternal torment, is evil. :2c:
