  as we have all bore the image of the corrupt,so too all shall bear the image of the incorrupt.

       flesh and blood can not inherit.....His kingdom is not of this world...terrestrial body/celestial body

Hi Chester! I'm not bothered in the least. Are you bothered? No need to be. The point of the good news is the deliverance from death, not 'going to heaven'. Even if we sleep in the dust, we're going to live... on the earth. In fact, the overcomers among the called-out people are going to rule... the earth.

2Pe 3:13  Yet we, according to His promises, are hoping for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness is dwelling."

Mat_5:5  Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

Psa_115:16  The heaven, even the heavens, are the LORD'S: but the earth hath he given to the children of men.

Php_4:6  Be anxious about nothing, but in everything by prayer and by petition with thanksgivings, let your requests be made known to God;

I think the things which God said in Eden as judgment, or curses.. were simply consequences.. If now mankind had become imperfect.. then surely man, for instance, would oppress, a bit, woman, who was physically weaker.. even despots and dictators.. bound to happen. And man would live by the sweat of his brow, everything now a struggle.. But I always think to myself, what was God's other option? no rational creatures? ever? Thinking ability includes choice/the ability to make choices (tho very limited thank goodness!) "The wages of sin is death". - I figure God is surely life itself, and also perfection.. But you see the dilemma/paradox?! As soon as anyone chooses anything which differs with what He chooses, in thought, word or deed, they become imperfect. The opposite of life. And imagine this.. Since He iS life, He suffers, lives through and experiences all sufferings and indignations.. wars.. murders.. etc, which ever happen.. :dontknow: :2c: :gsmile:

:Chinscratch: I've always thought that to mean the world of man.. the creation man has built on top of God's (glorious) creation? which creation He will make new (restore to its rightful pristine and perfect condition?) and will come and "tabernacle with mankind", the New Jerusalem come down out of heaven, to the earth.. and Jerusalem, like many colorful, radiant gems, will be Earth's capitol, the crystal clear river of life proceeding from its center.. (Symbolic of, and mirroring how His River of Life is to run through all of us; and throughout a beautiful and magnificent universe/perfection/paradise..)

That death wasn't the final end is hinted at in Genesis. When the patriarchs died, it was spoken of as joining those who already died.

"Then Abraham breathed his last and died in a good old age, an old man and full of years, and was gathered to his people" (Genesis 25:8).

"So Isaac breathed his last and died, and was gathered to his people, being old and full of days. And his sons Esau and Jacob buried him" (Genesis 35:29).

What forever is God talking about?

Jesus talked about the Kingdom of Heaven, but did not describe it.  He spoke of how it operated, and He never hinted that there was a harp + cloud Heaven, as churches teach.

2Co 5:1  For we are aware that, if our terrestrial tabernacle house should be demolished, we have a building of God, a house not made by hands, eonian, in the heavens."
2Co 5:2  For in this also we are groaning, longing to be dressed in our habitation which is out of heaven,

2Co 5:4  For we also, who are in the tabernacle, are groaning, being burdened, on which we are not wanting to be stripped, but to be dressed, that the mortal may be swallowed up by life."

The word translated "mansions" just means a place to stay or dwell. Not sure how they got that it was a huge house out of it. But IMO, the dwelling places he promised were new bodies.

But even now, believers are seated with Him in the heavenlies after they've been baptized into His death and raised.

I too have read the greek translated "mansions" was closer to "abiding places".. though surely there will be mansions in His kingdom in the new heavens and new earth? ..just imagine, friends and family living happily together.. in a mansion.. or better yet tents! in a forest clearing.. Just my :2c: :gsmile: Or a cliff dwelling in the mountains! Sorry! I'm being a little silly! ..But the whole earth, a garden.. (no more babbling city of man, nor its bills; oh, now I'm hearing Ritchie Havens singing "Freedom.. freedom..." Saw him in a small theater once, a few years before he passed away. Such a gracious guy.. :hiya: )
