My name is Patrick. I've been a Christian for a year and a half. I've recently become very jaded in my faith. But I am also highly troubled and concerned with all of the fear I've been indoctrinate with; extreme Christian fundamentalism is widespread on the net, and talk of end-times conspiracies and how many will 'fall away' from the true faith in the last days is also rampant, hard to debunk, and it gets under my really easily.

I've studied Universalism in the past, but I ultimately rejected it. But I figure that I'll look at it again. The doctrine of eternal torment has always troubled me, deeply. But I'd rather believe the truth (whatever that may be) as opposed to something that simply 'feels good.' Still, its nice too hope that everything isn't as morbid, terrifying and hopeless as many Christians would have me believe.

Universalists, please pray for me.

Welcome Patrick!
Yup, the doom and gloomers are a dime a dozen these days  :sigh: Not to worry, they aren't in charge and the one who is in charge has some great news for all people.
   Peace to you bro....

Hello there, Yo!  :icon_flower:
I spent 20 years in the "church" and then 20 years studying on my own, while occasionally visiting a church "just in case" I might be missing something! I found UR/US over 2 years ago and finally left "religion" completely behind for "one on one" with God. In time, I believe very strongly, you'll find the peace that you are looking for in UR/US. After all....if God is love, and if love never fails....I think He's got it all under control. "The Truth" sets us free in every way possible! Looking forward to your posts! BTW, where are you from?
