Roy Monis

My name is Roy Monis and I'm from Lancashire in the UK. and I'm 87 years of age.

I found out about Tentmaker through a member.

I have always been rather suspicious about the teachings in the Orthodox Church and have not been a part of any established denomination for many years now, not because I was aware that I was being called out but because I was sick of their teaching being in contradiction with what I was reading in the Bible even though my understanding of it at that time wasn't as clear as it is now.

The reason for this approach is for the fellowship with fellow believers in order to keep learning and growing. I have a very good knowledge of the Scriptures but one can never have enough or know all. There are still areas in ones belief that need to be openly discussed and a good assessment made and I'm certain that problem is not an isolated one present in me alone. The traditional Churches were good for fellowship, but fellowship under the rule of an establishment still under bondage served a detrimental rather than an edifying purpose. So I decided that I'd be much better without it. The threat of being cast out of the synagogue for simply questioning certain areas of teaching without a satisfactory Scriptural explanation was no joke and more than I could bear, so rather than them have that pleasure I left voluntarily and have never returned to any since.

I don't believe in eternal damnation or hell. I do not believe in Free Will or Free Moral Agency. I do not believe in souls going to either heaven or hell immediately after death. I don't believe in the Trinity Theory.

I think I have said enough for now.      :NewB1: :NewB1: :NewB1: :NewB1: :NewB1:   :NewB1: :NewB1:
Peace!

Hi Roy

87 WoW and computer literate to boot.  I think you must be our oldest member here and I think we should all call you uncle Roy.  :laughing7:

That makes me feel soo young.

:welcome: here and be blessed.  Glad you managed to navigate through the mayhem of this security we have in place.

Blessings

:welcome:   Hopefully you'll find more Scriptural support here than you did in that previous fellowship.

I hope I'm not in the midst of that very thing right now.  I stopped going to Church a few months ago 'cause at first I wasn't feeling well and needed some personal time, but it's been nearly impossible to get me to go back since.  And when I've tried, something's gone wrong with transportation, or I was miraculously ill that weekend, laundry took too long the previous night and I overslept, or whatever.

I really like the Church that I'm a part of and hope that this is just a season that I've been in.  Well, that's enough out of me about that.

Welcome to Tentmaker, and I hope you find much here to edify and strengthen you very deeply.

B_T

Wow! A very old man! You are ten years older than my grandpa  :icon_flower:

As for me... I'm 21, I live in Pleven, Bulgaria and I found this website after googling "what is hell" :)

Hi! Martin

Yep! I walked out with my head held high because the Spirit gave me that certain feeling that I was going to be slung out on my ears if I didn't comply and tout the Word of God and pray to be seen by men, typical pharisees.

Thanks for your welcome.   :NewB1: :ty: :bdh:
Peace!

Hey Roy

At least I did not call you a very old man like B_T - I guess you will set him right no doubt - he is Bulgarian so maybe just the language, I do not think he was being disrespectful.

I understand, I feel like a 21 year old trapped in this ol' body.

What a lovely name!

Nay, love, not a father figure but possibly a baby sister as we are all brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus here.

Thank you for your warm welcome.

Hi! brother SeekerSA

I understand brother that that young 21 year old (bless him) didn't mean to be disrespectful and neither did you, I was only joking when I said that. It's an old man's way of saying good on ya. "Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things." (1Cor.13:4-7).

Hey there brother Roy!
Glad you could come for a visit!

btw, everyone, I invited Roy over for a visit yesterday when the internet was so messed up (*due to the olympics broadcast?) and he couldn't get to the server for our BT site. I told him he'd like it here, should he decide to visit and that the server for tent was up and running.

Roy will certainly use as many graphics as possible, confound you with his "Brittish" humor, and inevitably cause a bunch of trouble, for which (note that I am stating this here and now) I am NOT responsible for!!
:laughing7: :laughing7: :laughing7:
Just kidn' bro--you know you are my fav grandpa! Glad your'e here!

I dodn't see why saying "a very old man" should be disrespectful.

I'm 21 and I look younger... In this sense I mean than calling me a kid must be disrespectful... So don't do that :)

We must share some photos some day, tentmaker members. What do you think?

Hi Roy!    :welcome:

Hi! Molly

Just what I've been looking for a like minded person. Without the Begotten Son of God we have no Creator for it is only God who can create. That's what I believe The Father Begat/brought forth/ gave birth to the Son for the specific purpose of Creation. He is not part of that creation but the Creator of it. If He was created He'd be part of that creation as are the angels, dogs cats and monkeys and us, that is, before we were Born Again into Christ.

There are various schools of thought on this and the above happens to be mine.

Thank you Molly :boyheart: :boyheart: :boyheart: :boyheart: :boyheart: :boyheart: :boyheart:

Hi! B_T

I've got a very thick skin brother and it takes a j=heck of a lot to offend me so don't worry about it. I don't think you were disrespectful, brother, you're supposed to laugh and do this to me >>>>> :bdh: :bdh: :bdh: :bdh: :bdh: :bdh: :bdh: :bdh: :bdh: :bdh: :bdh: Get the drift, does you good carnally and spiritually to have a good laugh especially at one's self.

Don't take life seriously, reserve that seriousness for the Lord in prayer and understanding His Word. That's what really matters in the end. Don't you agree?

Be like the one on the right and do this to me >>>(http://dl.glitter-graphics.net/pub/270/270601mreat66odd.gif)

Thanks for the warm welcome :ty: :ty: :ty:  I still don't know who willieH is. Maybe when we find out we'll get down to some serious edifying discussion, so get willieG out of the road.
