What is a thread? Is a Post the same as a thread? Why can I only reply to my own threads? I'm new to Forums and am not famiiliar with the termonolgy.
Thanks,
greenef

Seth

A post is one reply within a thread of posts. A thread is a way of saying that it's a sequence of posts. For the technical difficulty I am not sure. The moderators will be able to help with that.

Yes, what Seth said :)

On the reply piece, that shouldn't be the case...when you're under a certain amount of posts (20?) there are only certain parts of the board visible, but I think you should be able to reply to anything visible.  After that set # of posts, more topics on the board open up to you.  I'm working on the issue of your only being able to reply to your own posts...there's probably an easy way to fix for you, and I will take that route if I need to, but I'd like to figure out why it's happening overall (for not only yourself but potentially others coming behind you) and do a more general fix.  It will take just a bit, I'm looking...James.

hey greenef..this is James/jabcat posting under a test name..i was able to respond only to my own post after 1, but after I did that and had a total of 2 posts, I was able to come in and respond to this thread...you have 7 posts, so it APPEARS you should be able to reply to other threads...

plz PM me, I have an idea that involves your password so of course I don't want to discuss details publicly...thanks, James.
