Hi! I am so glad to have found this place. I've been researching the Greater Hope for a long time, and I discovered Tentmaker Ministries I think shortly after I dared to believe it might be true. It's been a haven for me spiritually to come here. I've been thinking I should come out of lurking and introduce myself, so now I finally am.   :banana:  (He's so happy I had to throw him in there.)

Haven:  harbor, port, a place of safety, refuge.

Harbor even has a Scriptual meaning because the whole "Christ idea" is to take shelter from the sea which often represents the bad parts of humanity



BTW it isn't the greater hope but the great fact  :thumbsup:

Thank you all!! I feel a wee bit embarrassed it took me so long to respond. I agree with you WhiteWings, it is the great fact! Can't express how glad I am about that! I love the sound of the Greater Hope, it kind of rings with beauty.
I'm excited to (virtually) meet you all, and learn your stories about how you came to the truth.

REARED PRESBYTERIAN AND CONSIDER MYSELF A NATURAL BELIEVER IF I MAY COIN A PHRASE FROM WILLIAM BARKLEY ( A GREAT SCOTS SCHOLAR).
TRIED "CHURCH" LIFE FOR YEARS BUT RAN HOT AND COLD NEVER LUKE WARM IN MY FAITH.
NEVER REALLY SETTLED THERE.
THOUGHT ABOUT UNIVERSAL SALVATION A LOT AFTER HAVING A NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCE IN 2011 AND STARTED PRAYING THAT GOD WOULD LEAD ME IN THIS SEARCH THROUGH THE "INFORMATION HIGHWAY" ( THE INTERNET, OF COURSE) AND INITIALLY FOUND THE CHRISTIAN UNIVERSALIST ASSOCIATION  WHICH LED TO OTHER WEBSITES OF WHICH TENTMAKER WAS THE PROMINENT ONE I'VE SETTLED ON BUT HAVE SINCE VIEWED GODFIRE.NET QUITE A BIT, ALSO.
I'M MARRIED TO A WONDEFUL CHRISTIAN WOMAN FOR 43 YEARS , HAVE A DAUGHTER AND SON , BOTH MARRIED W/ KIDS ( 5 GRANDKIDS TOTAL ) .
GRADUATED FROM TEXAS A&M UNIVERSITY IN '67, SERVED IN USAF FOR 4 YEARS AND 3 MONTHS AND CURRENTLY SELF-EMPLOYED( FOR 25 YEARS ACTUALLY) .
I LOVE THIS WEBSITE AND AM KIND OF HOOKED ON IT RIGHT NOW.
