New to UR but not new to Christ

I've been slowly making my way from a belief in eternal damnation (that's always been a troubling thing to me) to ultimate reconciliation. I'm currently reading my way through tentmaker's articles and books and hope to engage in conversation with others here without being labeled a heretic or getting smacked with the ban stick for questioning tradition.

Other than that, I'm a wife and mother in my mid-40s, born again for 20-1/2 years, and a full-time intercessor completely besotted with Jesus. To say I carry a burden for the Church and the world both would be an understatement. I intercede daily for the return of the King and hope it's sooner rather than later because I think we're in pretty deep doo-doo all the way around and in severe need of a global reboot.

Also, I get pretty rambly and run-on sentences are a hobby I frequently indulge in. Bear with me.

So anyway, enough about me ... Hi. :)

P.S. Is it normal to have to verify every post I make??

Welcome! I too am very new to UR, and I am glad you have found this website! I find that because UR churches are hard to come across (Where I live in NZ Wellington there are no Ur churches and no traditional churches that accept UR) this discussion forum is invaluable for fellowship, learning, and gathering more then one perspective.

I am a twenty one year old female, who "lived the way of the world", I grew up in a traditional Pentecostal church. After being confronted with the reality of death I realised that the "good news" was not really good news at all, and this unsettling revelation led me to UR.

I too feel that the world is shifting, rapidly. I too hope that Jesus comes backs sooner, rather then later. I can not even imagine what humanity will be like in a hundred years time!  :eek:
Society seems to me, to be spiralling out of control, the young generation are being forced feed garbage and it is quite obvious how the media, most churches, presidents anything with authority for that matter worship the idols of greed, love of power, and to put it simply "sex. drugs and rock and roll"

So yes, anyway welcome :)

I am unsure about your last question sorry, maybe a mod can help you out there.  :dontknow:

glad to see a young person (I'm 54) with a view of what's going on..and the hope of His return :2thumbs: .  blessings.

p.s.  i live in the midwest of the u.s., in the "bible belt".  I know of no bible believing UR congregations here either :(      (there are unitarian universalist groups, but i don't count them.  you could worship Binky your pet lizard as the messiah and be a leader in that group.)    :mshock:

Yes, it is quite sad that a good UR church is like hens teeth in this world. Thank the Lord for Tentmaker!
I especially love how a lot of the discussions and articles on this site are based on the scripture not just some jumbo mumbo theory that does not hold any sound scriptural proof.

The word of God is definitely not taken for granted here  :dsunny:

I know you'll agree, we're in a perpetual newness when it comes to the Lord.  This never to be superseded "New" Covenant is called "New," not because it is more recent than the old, but it is new because it is ever fresh and young.  It is "just now" springing forth.  It is being immediately created this moment.  It is ever untried and virginal.  How do you prepare for something new.  In part you cannot because it is new.  But you can forget what is behind to press forward, reaching out toward the goal.

Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.  Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, [and] rivers in the desert. (Is 43^18-19)
