Origenian

Hi, I've been a Christian for over 40 years and it has been quite a journey of discovery. The understanding I've progressively come to is broadly in line with Tentmaker in that I recognise that God's purpose is to reconcile everything and everyone that can be reconciled to Himself in due course, albeit that will not necessarily be a painless process for those determined to resist His goodness and grace. This nevertheless joyful expectation is not based on wishful thinking on my part but biblical truth and is in accordance with the understanding of some of the earliest Fathers of the Church, one in particular (the clue's in the username ). I look forward to participating with you.

Welcome. From what I've read about Origen, he seems to have been a brilliant guy. It's a shame that those who have believed God have been condemned by orthodox theology throughout history, but I guess it's to be expected because the same thing happened to Christ when he spoke the truth. That's why I think it's funny when I'm accused of heresy by fellow believers. I figure we all have a choice to believe God or the systematized deception of the Roman Empire that is perpetuated even in Protestantism. I'm a happy heretic believing the truth of universal reconciliation that's right there in the inspired written word of God for all to see.

WELCOME!

I thought at first that you were calling yourself "Oregonian."  Oh, right, Origen.  I remember a Chick Tract which ventured to state that he was not a Christian, and without proof.  I'm so glad to be here in the Tent, and not out there in the World (read:  organized religion).
Socrates taught Plato.  Plato taught Aristotle.  Aristotle tutored the son of Philip of Macedon.  This boy grew up to become Alexander the Great, largely by slaughtering a lot of people.  That's philosophy.

Jesus spoke the Truth.  He blessed the poor.  He healed the sick.  He even raised the dead.  He died on a cross for us, lived again, and came back long enough to tell us to love one another.  That's religion.

YHVH = Behold the Nail, Behold the Hand = Jesus

Those of us returning to the origins of our faith are like the redeemed of the Lord, comining in song, back to Zion. Everlasting joy shall be upon our heads, and our feet are shod with the Good News of peace.

10 And the messenger said to them, `Fear not, for lo, I bring you good news of great joy, that shall be to all the people --
