Hi there. I'm Julie and I feel like I have came home and it is so very nice to be here.
There is so much that I could say about me, but does any of it really matter. Like most here, I have seen the best of days and darkest of days. There is nothing new in that, the circumstances might change but feelings of fear and solitude differ but little.
So I will speak of my Spiritual journey, because when all is said and done, that is why I am here.
I cannot remember ever doubting that the God who loved me, didn't love everyone. I rejected Hell as soon as I was old enough to understand what it was. I learned that asking honest questions was worse than being an unbeliever. The thing is I did believe, but it wasn't what I was being taught. I was just the problem child with to little faith.
Oh, I searched and I read and attended a variety of different churches only to find that they all had a slightly different flavor to the same story.
I always believed in God, but feared that he didn't love me because I couldn't fall into line in his churches. So I went it alone, searching everywhere, reading much. It always seemed like I was taking one step forward and two steps back.
Well my hole finally fell in on me and I fully realized there was nothing more I could do, other than give everything to God. I had lost everything and it felt like a huge weight was lifted from me. The stress and worry vanished, replaced with the most calming peace I have ever known.
Of course I realized that God was with me all the while. I did not have to search outside but rather within. My life changed. I gave all of my trust to God and it felt good. Honestly I could see and feel things that I had ignored for so long, my patience and tolerance came back and I learned that no one could take any of these feelings away unless I let them. That was the greatest discovery #2. I was in control of my life after all.
I remember one Sunday while sitting in church. I was down, feeling myself slipping into depression. Gosh, so much for choosing to happy.....depression is like that. Well I was sitting there and I heard 3 distinct words: "Don't forget LOVE." Well, instantly I responded silently with "Don't for to feel love?" or "don't forget to give love?"
To my surprise I heard 4 more words: "NO! Don't forget Love"
The single most important message I have ever heard. Honestly, it explained everything!!!!! It explained my saddens, my depression, my doubts. I had forgotten LOVE. I had forgotten God. I had to repeat those words many times in the coming weeks, but gradually I got it. Love is everything, all this other stuff called life is here to be appreciated to learn and grow from. To be enjoyed. Wow, I even began enjoying God. What a concept.
I could go on, but will stop here, my spiritual awakening has changed my life and I have but scratched the surface. I look forward to learning with and from you all.
Don't forget love,
Love Julie
Awesome testimony! These three remain, faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is LOVE. :HeartThrob:
Hey Julie,
I'm John from Alabama.
Don't forget love.
I like that.
I recently heard it said, "Love like you've never been hurt."
I'm still trying to wrap my heart around that one.
Welcome.

Thanks everyone for your warm welcome. If you haven't yet discerned, I suffer from dyslexia. Case in point. The Title of this thread now say's what is supposed to say all along; that I was just saying hi.
Of course, it was lacking the "ing" and sounded quite rude actually. Almost demading: "Just say Hi"
Please forgive me, I only just discovered my mistake.
Love, Julie :HeartThrob:

It's OK. I have dyslexia too. So if you type something backwards, I probably won't notice. :laughing7: I don't even try to read long posts - too much of a chore to wade through. I just scan over and spot read the long ones.
No worries Julie, it's easy to make mistakes typing on these things and I think most of us pick up what the person is actually saying. My biggest problem is that I type from my phone and often don't check before I post so I have a ridiculous amount of typos and the words don't make sense haha.
(I did however go back and check this one over so hopefully it's fine... lol!)

This doesn't make sense.

LOL! No tormenting jbb! :thewife: :spank:

Dyslexia - I'm not diagnosed, but I suspect I have it. At least, I often type in the wrong vowel and often transpose letters.
Did you hear the one about the dyslexic satanist? He sold his soul to Santa...
OK...how about the dyslexic agnostic with insomnia? He would lie awake in bed at night, wondering if there really was a Dog.
Hey! I resemble that remark!
:laughing7:
HAHAHAHAHA Laz that made my day.
