Title: I'm New!!
Post by: sbjohnson on February 04, 2015, 11:47:28 AM
Hi all,

My name is Steve, I'm from Adelaide, Australia.

Would love to know if there are any other Adeladians Universalists here!!!???

Anyway... I can't wait to connect with some other universalist christians... it is terribly isolating believing something that most christians think is a heresy!! (unbelievable!!) I have one friend in Adelaide that share universalist beliefs, but I attend a church that would not be supportive at all.

Cheers all

Steve

Ronny to Steve:
Welcome Steve. :-)

Don't know if anyone here is from Australia and your part of it? But I know what you mean about it being isolating, when you believe in Christian universalism and you don't know anyone close to you,who believes the same. So it's good that you have that one friend nearby, who sees/believes in the same.  :-) And sorry to hear that your church,is not supportive of such. I'm sure the one I used to be in,years ago now, would also not be supportive. But then as I put it,as I near my 60th year,God let me escape the local church, when I was in my late 20's. :-) And I didn't know about universal restoration, until around 5 years ago.  Now when I walk my little dog past a local cemetery,I don't sing,When the roll is called up yonder, I'll be there;but I changed that to and sing it as,When the roll is called up yonder,we'll all be there. :-) So I guess you could say,I outed myself as a believer in Christian universalism,to all the folks in that cememtery! :-) Again Steve, welcome to Tentmaker forum! :-)

Hi,

Thanks for the welcome!

I can't remember exactly where it began, but somewhere I head about an Australian author (Tom Talbert) who wrote the book the inescapable love of god. I read that with a few friends over a couple of months and that did it... from there UR influenced everything I believed and the way I look at this world.

i read parts of Universal Salvation: The current debate and some other academic articles arguing against UR, but for me they can never address the character of God questions adequately.

So that's me!!

Hi Steve,

Glad to have you here and to hear a little of your story.

Once you've seen and experienced the love of the Father all the arguments against it can't make a dent.
