Just wanted to let everyone know I'm returning. Admittingly, I've been exploring the annihilationist perspective. But it left me thinking, If God desires to save all and it's His will too, then shall His will be done? I believe so

The only believers I know who believe in annihilation are the Jehovah's Witnesses and The Seventh Day Adventists. Both of those groups are very much into rule keeping and excluding others by holding onto pet doctrines. I came within a hair's breath of being scooped into The Seventh Day Adventists because of my personal repulsion about eternal torment. But when they began to demand that I vow to not wear my wedding ring and to vow I would refrain from drinking soft drinks and coffee and the pastor grew furious when I told him I could not agree to those things, I was certain there was something wrong and that is what kept me from joining. I went to a 15 day seminar they had in town which I dragged my kids to back in 1998 and I tell you what - they sure know how to walk a person through every book of the bible and put on an impressive show and I was still not delivered from my doubts, but boy was I searching for the truth night and day. It was in the year 2000 after crying out to God about how confusing all these sects of Christianity were and begging for him to show me the truth that I happened upon Tentmaker. I was stunned at the things I read. I had NEVER so much of heard of any Universalist Christians. I had never heard the term Kingdom Ministries. There are still very many people who don't know and many in various sects who will never be able to receive the full gospel of God's love.
* But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. (John 1:12-13)
*** I think this scripture also speaks to the fact that it is not by our own free will that we are born of the Spirit. So it is not like we make a choice to be born of God. It is by his sovereign will. Granted, there are seeds planted and the Spirit drawing us to bring about the new birth. But I never could save myself even though I believed in God and Jesus - I was still in great spiritual bondage!

God's son made of a woman, under the law? Say what? Who would ever say such a thing about the son of God?! That's right! God sent forth his Son, made of a woman!!!, made under the law!!!, to redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. ---- this scripture just now jumped out at me. I never really heard it before I read it tonight. Used to just gloss right through it when reading it.

Interesting! I spent 5yrs in the SDA church... I also found as much dismay at their belief of anhillation as I did of HELL which was taught in the Salvation Army in which I spent 20yrs... During all that time, I had never heard of Universalist Christians either!!
It is just part of the way GOD is doing things... UR is basically without organized churches... it is meant to be that way... for FEW are there in number that have embraced this "plain as day" TRUTH in the WORD...
In my experience with the SDA... they knew up front, that I drank coffee and such... I came upon UR while IN the church... and had several discussions with the pastor... who, though he vehemently disagreed with it... was not against my membership, nor did he try to terminate it... matter of fact, they are always calling us to come back... very loving people... just a little off the track... :dontknow:

I spend quite a bit of time on another forum... many loving people... but they are often obstinate and holding fast to their traditional teachings (such as "hell") regardless of the fact that they do not make any sense...

Quite right... GOD does the whole thing... and only reveals it to those who are really examining the Scriptures and who HE has decided shall know...
In the end... it is not about US... It is about HIM and His wonderous LOVE for us! :HeartThrob:

Hey guys its been a while since ive posted here as well :HeartThrob:... :Sparkletooth:...I hope all of you are doing well. You know God has been speaking to my heart, and what He has showed me this past Sunday through my Pastor, that we are all the body of Christ. If we all believe in Jesus Christ, that makes us one in Him who created us. Its not all because of the denomination that we may go, we are not of that denomination, we are of Jesus Christ, Jesus is my God and Savior and i believe it, and you believe the same, then that makes us One in Him! I used to believe differently, thought that because they were of this denomination then they believed differently, but thats not how it goes...we are one in Jesus Christ and what makes us one is the fact that we all here believe that Jesus died on the cross for our sins! We believe in Jesus! Any who, I just wanted to share what God has placed in my heart, He is so good to us all and pours out His Love to us all every day, its been a week for me and i will keep going in His name and by Him things will be ok, but keep me in your prayers ok!
