Good morning!
I was referred to your wonderful board by one of your great members! Thanks for the invitation.
To tell you a little about myself, I am 38 and I have two children. My daughter is twelve and my son is four months, yes, that's quite a gap, LOL.
I grew up a christian and it considered myself to be a very strong believer with a solid relationship with God. It was after some years of watching denominations fight and demand that only THEY could get to God by doing it "their way" led to my demise with the whole thing.
I thought there was no way ALL these denominations could be right.
So I started questioning and ended up deciding after so much research, there definitely was no hell.
Secondly, I took it a bit farther and found tons of reasons why there was no God either.
I spend about three or four years stumbling around, grieving, lost and sad.
Well, let me just condense the story and say that it was the worst time I have ever had in my whole life.
A few years ago, I had to literally start my life over as the impact of things that happened.
Recently, I felt God tugging at me...a warm feeling I have not had in a lonnng time. To everyone's surprise, I am at the point once again that I believe God is there. I look back and see that even through all the rough times that I had, His had MUST have been in my life.
This is where I am at today. I am just starting over again with God and am hoping to make it a solid, strong relationship, even stronger than when I was younger. I am praying and seeking and looking for some help with this.
Thanks all for reading this and I'm looking forward to posting here at your wonderful board! :boyheart:
Hello Freebird
:welcome: to tentmaker
I hope you find fellowship here as we are all pretty much a great bunch of cracked pots.
BTW folks that is a compliment, read Jack's blog.
No hell - check
No God - X
Denominations Wrong - Check
Jesus Christ Right - Check, Check, Check, Check, Check, Check.....
As for building a relationship with God, now you are on the right path. That is what He wants.
We all see through a glass darkly and hence opinions differ here too. We are all on a path of increasing revelation.
I hope you will be blessed here.
Blessings
welcome Freebird :icon_flower:

Hi Freebird...one of my favorite songs,
I hope you find fellowship here as we are all pretty much a great bunch of cracked pots
BTW. Your story is very similar to mine. The things God has brought you through to come to him!!! Read, post, question and study and you will surely find out what you need to know.
I hope you find fellowship here as we are all pretty much a great bunch of cracked potsThere's a story in the OT, Bernie, about how a certain group (Jewish people I believe) were told to go to war and they hid their lit sticks in a pot. It wasn't until the pot was broken that their lights shined. Can't remember where that story is,but I thought of it when you called us cracked pots. A cracked pot is good in God's hands, right?
Thanks all for such a warm welcome! :girlheart:
I'm really enjoying it here. I've dipped my toe in and made several posts and am finding some great discussions!
((Big hugs))
