I am just saying hi and thank you for letting me join the forums.

Short and sweet 'about me'...
...Wasn't brought up in church or with any kind of religion but was told by my unreligious mother that God loves everyone and was encouraged to pray etc.  I was drawn to God from a young age and started reading the bible early on.  To me Jesus was 'spot on' (with regards to things he said).  He was the truth.
Attended church in my teens and 20's but had to walk out of every sermon I attended as what they were saying and what was 'in me' was opposed and I knew what was in me was real due to revelations from God wheras 'by their fruits' (church-goers) I could see they were clearly not of God.  (I don't like to judge obviously but one can judge fruit).
Never believed in eternal torment and never would have worshipped a being who would inflict that upon anyone, though the very pages of the bibles I was reading said quite the contrary and there were times it was all a bit 'scary' but I clung to love (which casts out fear) and it was love which saw me through those times...Not a particular belief in 'anything'...Just loving as best I could.
After years of digging, praying, miracles (this was before the internet) I realized the truth of UR in the bible's pages (which coincided/agreed with what was in my heart) and would scribble down any passages I could find to support it (as like God I wasn't willing 'any' should perish).
...And that's what made me happy!

I still have questions and a desire to be with others of the same views/beliefs so that's why I'm here.

Again, thank you for allowing me to join the forums!

Welcome, marc555!

Unlike you, I was raised in the Roman Catholic Church, and had much misinformation from my family, regarding God and Hell.

Many members of my family just loved the idea of Hell, and seemed to delight in thinking of all the people they didn't like and/or disagreed with, going there for eternity. One of my Mom's favorite expressions was....I'll see them in Hell.

So, over the years, I shed my skins like a snake does, and now am here, a UR believer!

It is so wonderful to be here....and I hope you enjoy being here, too.

Thank you so much.  It's amazing how we all come from different places yet come together.
I need other believers...I walked too long by myself.  It's ... tough out there.

Welcome marc555, look forward to hearing from another brother

I attended church on and off growing up, but after my experience in 2005, I attended every chance I got, became fully indoctrinated, but that only lasted two years when, by the grace of God, I was led out of religion into UR.

Hi thanks.
Well...I went to a church last week and ended up walking out halfway through the 'hellfire' sermon.  -  Frankly I'd rather have toothache so i know where you're coming from.
I'd love to hear of your experience sometime.

Here's an idea. Next time you are about to go to one of those "hellfire and brimstone" sermons, just dress up as Satan and bring a pitchfork. And, if you are next to people, just say to them " I'm going to burn you and your children in fire and brimstone for all eternity!" Then make the best demonic laugh you can do. After that, tell us about your experience. And, don't forget the Pastor! You have to do it loud though, so everyone can hear you.

And, welcome to the forum.

You know what...Some of them in times past have thought I was the devil himself anyway...All because I believe that God saves all.  Crazy.

Phoebes Daughter

Hallo!

I joined up a few months ago...have been useless re contributing, but I do love popping in here and reading.
I just want to live in HOPE and FAITH....LOVE....INTEGRITY....
A large amplified life of abundant spirituality, not a small and meagre life of fear, über-judgement....

I thank our Living God every day for the joy and hope of His ultimate victory, undoing all the works of darkness....

I can't believe that I once reluctantly believed that the Creator would turn against His own creation.
It went against my deepest senses....and then the mist cleared.

🙂 Welcome - I'm only newish myself.
I love reading the joyful and hopeful words of our brothers and sisters here.
A treasure!!

Hi thank you!
Mine is an on-gong search.
I hope you find what you're looking for.

Socrates taught Plato.  Plato taught Aristotle.  Aristotle tutored the son of Philip of Macedon.  This boy grew up to become Alexander the Great, largely by slaughtering a lot of people.  That's philosophy.

Jesus spoke the Truth.  He blessed the poor.  He healed the sick.  He even raised the dead.  He died on a cross for us, lived again, and came back long enough to tell us to love one another.  That's religion.

What a great thread to read! I could never get myself to believe in the Et gospel (I.e. "good" news / glad tidings for all.. what an oxymoron Et is!)

Found / was brought to God not in a church but in the Rocky Mountains. UR, I believe, makes us happier and happier all the time.. Even on a challenging day or during hard time's, the peace and joy underlies everything and just keeps growing.

One of my thoughts has always been how I'm the world can a believer be happy (joyful) like the Lord day's, our joy full, of most folks we know and 3/4's of humanity is going to perish, or   be consciously tormented for ever and ever?! I mean really. WheRe is the logic in thAt!? It's crazy talk, plain and simple.

God bless ya'all! He loves you! :HeartThrob:

I read your story somewhere else on the forums regarding your conversion (Rocky Mountain experience) thanks for sharing that.
The thought that always makes me smile is when someone wrongs me...and I think of them 'restored' at some point in the future.  The whole of creation being 'restored' is what I'm about...It 'seems' impossible...But it isn't for the One that made all this in the first place.
I passed through a 'deer farm' the other day and saw hundreds of deer.  They all stood and watched me...Such majestic creatures...But my thoughts were on where they would end up.  Their antlers would be sold, their furs sold, their meat sold...on top of this most would probably be sold to hunters for 'game'... some idiot in the future would be chasing these beautiful things through a forest trying to kill them with a gun.

...Yeah creation restored is my thing...

Amen, His creation is SO very, very majestic! And glorious. The adversary had to cover that up as much as possible..the (nonChristian) idea of a bodiless afterlife where the Earth and creation seem to not really enter the equation.. Some of my very favorite verses are in Isaiah 11, where it says the small child will be able to play at the entrance to the viper's nest - so subdued shall Earth and creation be, and all opposition, and how the lion will eat straw like the ox and the bear will graze with the cow.. and no harm in all His holy mountain/inHis Kingdom. My hunter friends will have to hunt veggies! But especially no more caging animals, etc, as mere food.. And Luke 1:33, His Kingdom will never end..Micah chapter 4 mentions everyone dwelling under their own vine and fruit tree.. and of course Revelation with its trees of life bearing twelve manner of fruit.. and the river of life clear as crystal.. metaphor for the life that flows from God's throne but still, I believe, very literal. In one of his late chapters Isaiah writes "My people will sleep/be able to sleep? in the forest.. (which I somehow get intertwined with LED Zeppellin's line "and the forests will echo with laughter.." :laughing7: [yes in the 70's I thought they were prophets!]

Revelation describes New Jerusalem descending to and upon the Earth..

Tabernacles will be observed annually..

I learn a lot reading your posts. I've never heard it put that way before. (The non Christian view where earth and creation don't enter into the equation).

I don't know if you have ever listened to to Gregg Braden. He is a scientist but spiritual. He talks a lot about how cooperation must have been the first natural order of creation a lot... His discussions are very interesting about it and I often find myself nodding in agreement with all he says. Basically he makes a strong case that creation is all about order and cooperation and it must have been that way in the beginning.

God I love hearing what you write Marie... A lot of what you have written here has deeply touched me... More than you could know. I didn't know all that stuff... I will read this post over a few times and check out the scriptures you included... Thank you once again.  :HeartThrob:

MOST HIGH

PAGE AND PLANT (Zepplin)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fZFo78UjZJI

Who guards the truth
Oh lord most high
A frightened dove in a starless sky, oh-oh, oh oh oh
So high, most high, so high

Who hides the east from the blind man's eye
In the land of peace
Where the righteous cry, oh-oh, oh oh oh
So high, most high, so high

[Chorus:]
Where are the words of the king
Who moves the stars and then the sun
To the light where my spirit was born
Bring this wanderer home

While mercy sleeps in the hearts of liars
And the olive tree is consumed by fire, oh-oh, oh oh oh
So high, most high, so high

[Chorus]
Where are the words of the king
Who moves the stars and then the sun
To the light where my spirit was born
Bring this wanderer home, come on, come on, come on

When David's seed talks
Through his paper crown
And he spits hot steel
See all the kids fall down
Ohhh yeah, mmm
So high, most high, so high, Oh oh yeah

Oh oh
Come on, come on, come on [Repeat: x3]

Better hurry, hurry [Repeat: x2]

Most high, most high high high
Most high, so high, so high
So high
