Hello! Fire and foremost, and introduction. I am an elementary music teacher who is quite grateful for this gift of music. I love teaching children and pray that I use my job to better the lives of those around me. A short introduction, but should you want to know more, just e-mail me! Now onto my question: I was on Facebook just a short while ago, reading some posts my husband had placed upon his "wall" regarding citizens' rights, specifically regarding the 2nd Amendment. My husband and I share similar viewpoints on allowing citizens the rights to defend themselves should the need ever arise. If someone is going to threaten my life or the lives of my family members (son, daughter, etc.), does it not seem logical and just that I should have the right to defend myself or those around me? I do not want to be a person who stands by and just "lets" injustice happen. If I have the means and the chance to make a wrong right, shouldn't I do so? We have a person in our lives who continually disputes our views on this particular topic, and no matter how we state it, we seem to be "wrong" and this individual is always "right." I'm just curious what others' viewpoints are on this particular topic--thanks for anything you may have to share (be it quotes, personal viewpoints, etc.).

Hello these are tough questions I ask myself.

What I have concluded so far, is that there is neither right or wrong when defending the innocent, but is a matter of hearing what God says, as our zeal to protect could make things worse, somehow.
