Hi

My name is Chris.  I live in Texas.  I just found the Tentmaker site a few
days ago.   I was doing some Googling on universal salvation and ended
up reading the article about The Rich Man and Lazarus off of the website.
I was really impressed.   Then I went and listened to some of Gary's
messages on YouTube.   I'm really thankful I found this site !!!

This is not exactly a standard religious hymn, but this is how I feel --  !!

Cream had such a great sound good to see a fellow fan of the band. Gary does do a great job of explaining it in a way that can drag someone away from the bad gospel and into the  glorious gospel. Welcome :banana:

I've also come to see UR as a more mature view.  Children bicker and tell each other they are wrong and want to hurt and scream at people who disagree.  IMO UR let's us see ourselves as children learning to grow up;  it allows us to see that it's God universe and we aren't in control.

I never did understand why Jewish gematria was used on Greek words.  How come they didn't do it on the Latin too?

Socrates taught Plato.  Plato taught Aristotle.  Aristotle tutored the son of Philip of Macedon.  This boy grew up to become Alexander the Great, largely by slaughtering a lot of people.  That's philosophy.

Jesus spoke the Truth.  He blessed the poor.  He healed the sick.  He even raised the dead.  He died on a cross for us, lived again, and came back long enough to tell us to love one another.  That's religion.

Gematria works in Hebrew, Greek, and Latin, because each written language lacked a separate set of symbols for numerals.  Letters did double-duty as numbers, and so you can easily plug in the numerical equivalents.  For instance, the Latin Papal motto VICARIUS FILII DEI inescapably carries the number 666 with it.
