Title: Finally a forum that doesn't ban Universalism talk
Post by: beartheweak on March 09, 2013, 06:56:14 AM
Two forums that I either did join or almost joined are (according to their rules) against any posts that favor Universal Reconciliation. So glad to find a forum that seems more open to discussing this.

I will admit that I am not fully convinced yet to believe in UR. Although, eternal Hell has been becoming more and more of a myth to me in the last few weeks.

I have made it my goal to see if I can become fully convinced in UR. There is just the little bit that makes me hesitant because of all the indoctrination I have received about eternal Hell. I'm scared, but becoming more and more relieved.

God Bless you guys for offering such a wonderful place to share thoughts on this freeing doctrine. I'm glad this site has so much user traction too!

Bear, I can relare to the fear of letting go of doctrine you have lived by as "truth".  It is a little like letting go of the handlebars and see what happens. For me, it was a process coming to accept UR. I kept wrestling with the question, what if I am wrong? But as those pillars of "doctrine" began to fall, the good news made my heart leap for joy that God really is good and does love His creation. I used to think He was irritated and peeved that He had to send His Son to rescue us-- like He thought we were so stupid that He had no other choice. Thank God that I no longer think that. I now have a God I can brag about because, yes, He is that good. Welcome.

Not only do we welcome discussion of UR, it is semi-required  since the whole forum is dedicated to the discussion of it. We do get off on tangents once in a while.

IMO, There is ONE statement from ET'ers that is designed for the sole purpose of "keeping people from straying from the "faith in a   the ET God- here it is:(ET person speaking to a UR person)
'If You're right, in the end. we'll both live happily ever after with God, But if I'm right I'll be fine but you will burn in hell
for all of eternity."

My final answer: IF God is the sadistic, psychotic, hateful God that is no different than all the pagan Gods worshiped, rather than the loving, merciful, God of grace and peace I see in Jesus, I'd rather burn in hell than live with that evil God. :2c:

A lot of the skeptics and scoffers over at abovetopsecret (where I do a lot of UR promotion) say just that.  They see the spiritual glitch more clearly than most Christians.  For that reason, I see my time as an atheist as a blessing, in part.

Anyway, beartheweak, welcome, and I'm glad that you found your way here! :friendstu:

Welcome beartheweak! I hope you are blessed here as you stop in on your journey.

And I agree with you ded... I would never want to live in "heaven" while my loved ones are burning in "hell". Thank God that doctrine is going to Gehenna.  :LH:

I hope it goes quickly.  You might say I wish it were hell bent for leather.

Hey beartheweak  I'ld like to apologize in advance for everything I will do or say while you are here.  I am weak, please bear with me.  Bearing can be such a grizzly state of affairs don't you agree?  Hale fellow well met.

   beartheweak welcome!
I have no doubt that you will become fully convinced that UR is the true gospel. Unlike you when I began studying UR I was trying to prove that it was flawed or flat out wrong. Guess what happened.........I become 100% convinced of UR.
