Guten Abend (not really German...it just sounds neat), I found tentmaker after years of searching for people who were as unsettled as myself about the Christianity they were taught. I looked many long and painful years for those who unquestioningly embraced Jesus, but who were, like me, extirely put out by really weak foundational ideas of the faith. I knew Jesus was/is real, but I finally asked myself "suppose evangelicalism is flawed...suppose Bill Bright, Chuck Smith, and Pat Robertson and others taught us all ideas we just assumed were true. We didn't know any different." Now, at this point I'm not sure about UR, but what did attract me is that UR's proponets asked the very same questions I had asked myself for years. No one else in Christendom I could find was asking the hard, embarrassing questions of teachings which I now see as having bound me up psycholigically and spiritually for decades. At Tentmaker, I've found those questions...and they're out there right for everyone to see. More than that, I just plain like people of courage - people who don't go along with the status quo. The object of faith (Jesus) is never in question...but the method, the way we do faith is very much in question.

Each morning is a new beginning of our life. Each day is a finished whole. The present day marks the boundary of our cares and concerns. It is long enough to find God or lose Him, to keep faith or fall into disgrace.

I assume you already found the main TentMaker site with the many books and articles. Or the other UR websites?
1 Timothy 2:3-4  ...God our Savior;  Who will have all men to be saved...
John 12:47  And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
Romans 4:5 But to the one who does not work, but believes in the one who declares the ungodly righteous ...

Welcome.  I remember being right where you are 2 years ago.  I longed for answers.  I knew in my heart that Jesus was real, and that he died for my sins.  I had been saved since I was a young boy.  But, many things I was taught troubled me and bound me up in spiritual turmoil.  I was first led to Martin Zender, and from his books to here.

I think most here are very certain about what they believe and why they believe it.  After two years of study, I can say that UR reconcils our God who loves agape and judgment in my mind.  I personally think knowledge of judgment has to be Holy Spirit revealed.  Today, I have a great hope that God does indeed have good things intended for ALL of mankind.  It's my prayer, my hope and I do believe there is significant scriptural support for such.

I hope your studies here are fruitful.  Again, welcome.

Welcome! I think it's totally appropriate to ask these questions. I think there's a lot of evangelicals who secretly believe in UR but don't cop to it for fear of he heretic label and such. Anyhow, welcome! :happy3:
