Some things about me. I moved here to Chatti back in October of 2007. I had lived in S.W. FL for about 15 years, mainly in Bonita Springs.

I came to Chatti at the request of a friend. At that time we both lived in Naples, FL. His request took me by quite some surprise, as we had only known each other about 3 months, when he had asked. As i thought it over a few weeks, he told me why he wanted to move back to Chattanooga. After he told me his reason, somehow, i just could not refuse his request.

You see, my friend was dying, cancer was ravaging his body, and sadly, his mind also. He wanted to die in Chatti, as he felt a 'peace' here. His friends were here, and the church that he liked to attend. To him Chatti was 'home'. So i agreed to come with him.

His purpose was fulfilled, and i trust that he has finally found the true peace that he was looking for. As for me, i am still here in Chatti, building a new life for myself. I rededicated myself to God, accepting Jesus as my Savior. I've pretty much quit my boozing and drugging, after some 40 years of that destructive lifestyle.

I still struggle with those addictions, i still get frustrated that i am even tempted to abuse. I occassionally even give into them, which makes me angry with myself for being so weak.

So, needless to say, i have many doubts about my salvation. I've been exposed to most of the various doctrines concerning salvation.
Personally though, i often doubt that i am saved. I often wonder that doubt arises because i have been exposed to the various doctrines regarding it.

Oh, yeah, i also suffer from bipolar, or manic depression as it is sometimes known. I know i rely way too often upon my 'feelings/emotions' rather than truths revealed in scripture. So, when i am guided by my feelings, i am NOT 'saved'. In those rare moments that i am not relying on my feelings/emotions, it is those times that i am assured of my salvation.

Thus, i call myself a 'Seeker', in that i am seeking God's will and direction for my life. Most of the time though, i just feel confused.

Other things about me: i'm 54 y.o., disabled and drawing SSD.

Welcome,

Please don't doubt your salvation.  There is no need for you to doubt that.

I hope you find this place to be an oasis in the desert.  There are a lot of very sincere saints here who have been through the fires.

Grace and peace to you -
Anne

:cloud9: Hi....... :welcome: :newb:..........The doubts you are experiencing I think nearly everyone goes thru at the beginning of their walk with the Lord, because we get our eyes so easily (with help from the enemy of our souls thru both ourselves and others) on what of us has not yet conformed into His image in the natural realm.

This is not a true measure of what has happened WITHIN as it is our spirit that is born from above first, and then we are to work out our own salvation of our souls with fear and trembling thru the washing of the Word and obedience to the Spirit. It is a process, not a one time event. The one time event simply begins the process by showing we were accepted in the Beloved.

So don't beat yourself up when you fall, just pick yourself up, dust yourself off, repent before Him, and start walking again. There is NO CONDEMNATION to those that are in Christ Jesus, and that includes any you allow your carnal mind to heap upon you. Cast down that image, it is who you WERE, not who you are now as a new creature in Christ. It is actually a spirit of necromancy that tries to raise that past image from the 'dead', for you are now dead to it, but alive to Him. Blessings and welcome to the board.......

Be still and KNow that I am God...I do not remember chapter and verse,
while scripture tells us to seek the face of God, it is important to remember that God is seeking us like the shepherd and the lost sheep.Call out to him and he will andwere you and show great and hidden things
