I was on the board of an organization of scientists who recognized the truth of the biblical record as it related to earth and life history. I learned that one of the other directors had adopted some strange ideas about salvation and hell and eternity. I sought more information from him because I had, on my own, modified some of my Southern Baptist beliefs (http://www.lanelester.com/whom-does-god-love/).

My friend provided me with literature and reference which eventually led to my adopting those same "strange ideas."

Good to have you here, Lane.  I recall that Robert Bly once said, "We have spent too much time getting in touch with our inner child.  It is time to get in touch with our inner geezer!"  Being 63 myself, I can appreciate that.  :friendstu:
Socrates taught Plato.  Plato taught Aristotle.  Aristotle tutored the son of Philip of Macedon.  This boy grew up to become Alexander the Great, largely by slaughtering a lot of people.  That's philosophy.

Jesus spoke the Truth.  He blessed the poor.  He healed the sick.  He even raised the dead.  He died on a cross for us, lived again, and came back long enough to tell us to love one another.  That's religion.

Welcome Lane!
Fellow ex-Southern Baptist here. The only part of Southern Baptist I am hanging on to is the "Southern" part, because I can't do a thing about that. :laugh: You will enjoy the folks here.  Never stop searching for truth!
