This may reveal the depth of my ignorance, but earlier this week as I was at work in the computer lab, I'd overheard a couple other gentlemen in deep conversation on Abraham Lincoln.  Don't know how the conversation led to that, don't know what the main subject was, but what I did hear was they both thought very highly of Lincoln and one had commented about his Christian beliefs and the other stammered a bit and said there was some contraversy about whether he was or wasn't a Christian due to his issue with the topic of hell.  He went on to explain, hesitantly, like he was trying to find a polite way to put it, but he said there are claims that Lincoln was a supporter of Universal Salvation.  To that the other guy smirked and shook his head and stated "Yeah, I've met one or two of "those" types in my life. . ."  they both shared a religious laugh and moved on.

But I was quite interested in checking into this further.  So I got on the internet just now and did some digging.  I found this very revealing article on him and lo and behold . . .guess where the article originated from?

But after rewriting the heading topic in the search box, I found that there are MANY sites that support this thinking.  Blew me away.  Abraham Lincoln was a universalist.  I did not know that.
