Quiting the race

Well I need to let you all know that Im  gonna throw in the towel. I just never thought that would happen, by the Grace of God Ive held on through alot of mountians and many a valley. Why you may ask, well its about  theology-religion- and doctrines. Ive read and studied many spirit filled teachers and preachers, I will not name them all. The Lord moved in my life back in 1972 and He has led me, let me, and helped me into many a valley and up many a hill and over many a mountain, even let me lay up  on a few and take in the rays. Ive been full of joy and full of sorrow. Ive tested the words of my teachers and I wrestled with some of them cause I could not accept what they said as the Word. But now the WORD says one thing and it is very plain in its speech and I accept that word as The Word to be of a Truth. And all you who have read my post on this know that Gen. 2:7 and 1Cor. 15:45 read that man/adam is a living soul, he became a living soul, man did not get nor was he given a soul. I have searched the Word. I have emailed many a brother and sister, they respond as you all. No where do I find that the Word of God says man has a soul or is given a soul. Nowhere do I find that the soul is an entity of itself or has the attributes out side of being the living/breathing creature. But, and still, no one sees this.  So I have come to the conclusion that everyone is correct. So I will quit the quest, that race of the high calling. I have found joy  walking in the Way, even tho there was less and less fellowship, simply because when you hear His voice to come out  and you do, you find less and less of a following.  Ive been blessed to be coming out of them, since about 1975. But this, I find, it just to alone for me. May the LORD bless each and everyone of you.

You are not alone brother I also do not see any mention of a soul and I have only recently heard Cardinal talk about the male femal created he them, which Im studying about. I don't know about you but sometimes I feel as if God has given every Christian a special revelation or something that they have a soul, but when I search the scriptures I don't find it. So to me it is a deception that blinds the world
who rely on spiritual experiences more than the word. But if I see anything noteworthy about this eve/soul thing I might be onto something, but until then I'll trust what the more plain scripture says about death being a sleep.

Yikes. Don't do that, Micah.  We like to chit and chat about various things, but if we get one piece of understanding right or wrong is not so important as our relationship with each other and with Him.  If one says there is a soul and one says there is not--it will not change the reality, whatever it is.  The reality will stay the same no matter what anyone says.  And, one day, we will all know the truth, anyway, whatever it is.

So--you can't throw in any towels.  It's not an option. :happygrin:

micah, IMO, unless we're talking about absolute apostacy, I believe we can still fellowship even if all don't see each and every doctrinal issue exactly the same.  

I was just thinking today about an example a youth pastor presented to us years ago when I was a teenager.  He had a bunch of burning charcoal briquets.  He separated them from each other.  While he talked they all began to glow less and less, growing cold and dark.  When he put them back together again they shared the heat and fed off each other, beginning to glow and put out their light and heat again - as a group.

The fellowship of the saints is important - remembering to assemble ourselves together.  We can help each other with our differences, our different understandings/revelations.  We all have bits and pieces.  

Wherever two or three are gathered in His name, He is in our midst....

Yes, and also I've been learning a lot from you, Micah, and stimulated to think about things I hadn't been thinking about before.

My understanding of (Hbr.) nephesh and (Grk.) psyche is, though they have been translated otherwise with words like "life," they represent what should be translated soul.  The spirit and the body both have true substance in their respective "home" dimensions.  Not so the soul.  It is the result of the interaction from having spiritual substance inhabit and be intermeshed with physical embodiment.  This is illustrated with the meanings of the Greek words for these.

What is used for English "spirit" is pneuma meaning "BLOW-effect,"  the body is soma, and the soul is psu-que.  When the blowing of the spirit contacts water the result is a COOLing-effect.  This is another way of saying the result of the spirit with the body is soul, i.e., psyche, meaning COOL-effect.

Another example is with electricity representing the spirit, the bulb representing the body, and light and heat representing the soul.  The empowering substance of electricity on the substance of the filament in the environment of the bulb results in light and heat,   Light and heat are qualities of the interaction of two substances, one higher and the other lower.  Again the insubstantial soul is the result of the interaction of spirit quickening the mud body.

When Scripture says, "The soul that sins it shall die" it is descriptive of the developing results of going in a way other than those compatible with God's ways.  Wrath, for instance, kills off ones ability to be empathically perceptive of whoever we are angry at.  Lust pursued kills the consciousness of the real values of what is desired and what is diverted in pursuit of fulfilling lust.  The passions become crosswired, suppressing spiritual lusts, by missing the true aim of our being.  Sin shortcircuits the soul.  That is an ongoing death of the soul.  Alignment with God is an avenue for greater life from God to be imparted.

Jesus says, "Whoever saves his soul will be losing it; and, whoever destroys his soul for My sake and the gospel will be obtaining it [the enduring soul.]"  Those whose moods are the real world, moods and passions they must keep and use as motives to bring to pass the fulfillment of these mood, passions and feelings will lose their souls.  They do not possess their own souls because, living reactively, they give it away to others.  When your thoughts that are vengeful, or wrathful, for instance, are destroyed by you to love as your heavenly Father has taught you, you discover increasing consciousness due to increasing life creating a soul that functions by the very life of God.  You may even see into the soul of another with the knowledge of how to help them enter into God and release His presence within them.

One form of prayer eliminates all emotions, will and specially thoughts should they appear, waiting and becoming entwined into one with the Lord.  One silences all motions of self to be totally available to the presense of the Lord.  "Cease' or, "Be still and know I am God."  Rather than self awareness, in exchange one receives Divine awareness.  "Silence is praise unto You, O LORD, in Zion."

There is possible a soulish function for the spiritual soul so interwoven with the spirit.  Should the spirit be apart from the body, a limited fulfillment occurs of what Jesus pointed out, that, "Who lives and believes in Me shall never die."

Yeah...I'm not sure fellowship means we all have to agree.  I certainly don't agree with everything I read here.  With that said, I think I would enjoy sitting down and talking about our Lord with most of the people here.  I think I would enjoy breaking bread with you guys.  I rejoice in our diversity, the civility and love found even amongst our differences of opinion.
