I posted something similar a while back but can find the thread anymore.
So I'll start a new one with this, IMO, facinating information.
Web page #1: http://www.bible-codes.org/Names-Bible-Prophecy-Code.htm
Web page #2: http://www.bible-codes.org/acrostic_prophecy.htm
PDF format containing both above mentioned pages:http://www.bible-codes.org/Names-Bible-Prophecy-Code-1.pdf
All names mentioned in the Bible have a (hidden) meaning. Some of them are explained in the Bible.
Many other names you can find in this document; plus information on how to figure out some more for yourself.
A secret acrostic encoded 4000 years ago proclaims the message of forgiveness. The first letter of each consecutive Hebrew name from Adam to Abraham (a total of 19 names) reads, "I will forgive my enemies, showing compassion, forgiving those made from dust a second time."
There is also another acrostic code found in the parallel ungodly line of Cain. It contains 8 names and reads, "I will choose a circumcised people for myself (i.e., Jews), even (many) peoples for myself (i.e., Gentiles)."
Are these those normal bible codes? I have a dvd somewhere about them. Thought bible codes aren't accepted as being "real" anymore since you can do it with other books 2?
Bible codes are something very different DeeDee. That are things like take the 1st letter of every page of Lucas and you have the name of the anti-Christ.
This document is just about the meaning of names. God Himself explained 22 meanings. The article/scholars figured out the other meanings.
oh okay, I understand now. Fascinating.
Hi WW and Dee Dee ,
I for one have always been blessed by the name meanings , sort of a hidden manna to me , they seem to explain alot of the nature and purpose of God within them for Instance David meaning'' Beloved ''
and He was a man after Gods own heart the names seem to show the good or bad intent
Adam meaning ''red'' clay ''earthy'' and we know God made him from the dust of the ground and was cursed to return to it ...
to me it can clear up alot of things and wondering thanks for the post bro

Same site/stuff as mentioned in my first post. But it has expanded quite a bit.

This is really a good find Tony !
You know I got an old bible that has alot of these names and meanings written by them so I did not have to keep looking them up over and over again , but this is Great!
Thank you for sharing it !
there sure is alot to the name meanings they seem to ''connect'' alot more scriptures and can form lots of patterns thoughout the Word of God , hidden ''manna ''to me which means
what it is , or what is it ? seems to serve as food for thought in every moment the Lord gives it out for the spiritual man to sustain him at the time , ''a daily bread of sorts'' ...
its for this day ... you can find all manner of depths and lengths and heights of the Wisdom of God hid thoughout His Word if you are a
willing to dig in and eat of it as the Holy Spirit teaches us how to Live before the Living God .. in the raised up Body of Christ growing in truth and grace into the Head ..
Hi WW
Youv'e touched on a topic that I hold dear,also.
In the garden, when God when bring an animal to Adam,
Adam would first observe it's behaviour[nature] and then
he would 'name' it. To name something gave you
knowledge/discernment and dominion over the creature.
Having a name that only you knew, signified freedom from
dominion by another[this New name, given by Father] that only
the one who would receive it would know.
The revealing of the Glorious freedom of the sons of God
is tied up with that NEW NAME..for it is also a NEW NATURE
Lovely topic, WW
Sheila
I think every Bible with commentaries should have that name list.
The meaning of the names are undisputed. They are also given by Father so there is no shame in showing them.
Perhaps it doesn't smell enough to sulpher for many translators.....
For me it sounds URish enough that I would say: "Good 'article' for Gary's main site."
Surely many will say the story is about the elect...

Maybe make a text only list and glue it inside the cover of the Bible?
I think it's a good idea because usally such lists aren't within reach when redaing the Bible.
I wonder if this list can be extended into the NT.
Only Jesus is on the list. But what about the twelve? Or even the likes of Pilate (=armed with a spear)
All names are translations. Can you imagine someone living there at that time having a name like James. I'm sure Jabcat likes to think so but I.... :laughing7:

That is a good idea Tony !,
I have a notebook with a long list of this same sort of name meanings
could add that inside the Bible some how ..
me marked the BOOK yikes ! Believe it or not some folks condemned me for doing that ,,
but for me , the defense was seeing it better than never touching it and dusting it off from time to time as some type of family treasure [keep sake] :msealed:
James is a form of Jacob /aka Israel
the name changes are also a bit of study in themselves
as Shelia brought up naming the creatures as Adam had dominion over
so Does God over all His creation .. new names and all ..
Rev 3:12 Him that overcomes will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out:
and I
will write upon him the name of my God,
and
the name of the city of my God, [which is] new Jerusalem,
which cometh down out of heaven from my God:
and [I will write upon him]
my new name.
The tribes listed in the order as they Revelation 7
1. Judah means "I will praise the Lord"
2. Ruben means "He has looked on me"
3. Gad means "Given good fortune"
4. Asher means "Happy am I"
5. Naphtali means "My wrestling"
6. Manasseh means "Making me to forget"
7. Simeon means "God hears me"
8. Levi means "Joined to me"
9. Issachar means "Purchased Me"
10. Zebulun means "Dwelling"
11. Joseph means "Will add to me"
12. Benjamin means "Son of His right hand"
All joined together with a few additional words for easy reading
I will praise the Lord for he has looked on me and granted good fortune. I am happy because my wrestling, God is making me to forget. God hears me and is joined to me. He has purchased me a dwelling and will add to me, the Son of His right hand.
What's in a name you ask?
You have no idea!
Exo 23:20 "Behold, I am going to send an angel before you to guard you along the way and to bring you into the place which I have prepared. "Be on your guard before him and obey his voice; do not be rebellious toward him, for he will not pardon your transgression, since My name is in him.
