What Was God Doing Before the Foundation?

YLT Psalm 145:13 Thy kingdom is a kingdom of all ages, And Thy dominion is in all generations.

Ephesians 1:3-5   Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms.  For He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world to be holy and blameless in His presence. In love He predestined us for adoption as His sons through Jesus Christ, according to the good pleasure of His will,...

I know we probably don't really know  :laughing7:, but since at some point God predestined the ecclesia to be called out in this age, and then destined the whole world in ages to come; slaying His Son for our sins before the foundation;   thoughts on what was going on before the foundation of the world and the beginning of what we know understand as "time"?

Or is this "...reject foolish and ignorant speculation, for you know that it breeds quarreling."?   

It's just some of the types of things I wonder about, but maybe best left to my own pondering... :Chinscratch:

But maybe something useful can come of it, some sort of scriptural and spiritual glimpse to workings "behind the scenes" and "before the times".   :Peace2:   Maybe some insights into angelic beings, satan, etc...leading up to the recent, current, and future ages...

So God can point to us in all future ages as examples of the incredible wealth of his grace and kindness toward us, as shown in all he has done for us who are united with Christ Jesus.

I.M.O pondering is ok, but  the basis from which we work seems to be a key point about the direction to search.

Another of I.M.O is that when going to church we used to be told about things being "too mysterious" to comprehend, so just accept- that is pretty demeaning and does not encourage us to delve too deeply.
As we grow in the flesh we find out more and more about how things work/tick.
When I started going to jobs with my dad I came to see the preparation required before the job. Before going along I did not know just how much was involved in what seemed to be an easy process. Christ points out that our earthly dad is a hint of how much our Heavenly Father loves us. We have a loving Father; He is greater than our dad. So as we grow in the spirit we will have more opened and explained to us.

I.M.O we will have more of the whole creation pointed out to us as the individual as we grow in that grace and KNOWLEDGE.
So the thoughts before creation would have been the pro's and con's, the possible variations, cover ALL bases- then be ready to tweek as the plan unfolded.So what was going on before the world began would have been like setting up a new business.
Would seem to be why the flood was deemed necessary- Israel has been corrected many times; nations have been wiped out; there will be an age of judgment/correction; there is an age of the great white throne; there is an age of the millennium; all seems to be pointing out the development, guidance, growth that our system is being run through as we are nurtured to be the sons/daughter of the living God.

We are told to focus on heavenly things, not the things of this age.
Do not be conformed to this age but transformed- ergo keep speculating if that is positive.

   His work week..if you will..creating,building.    When He saysthere is no other god...He knows this..for He hadsearched the great

and ps........I think it is a normalaspect of relationship with Him todesire to know Him more fully andintimately....and I see it

as growth. Jesus was about His Father'sbuisiness.....He had bread to eat that other's  knew not of. As achild grows to manhood

    he becomes acquainted andprivy to His Father's work,story,life etc

    God knew it was not good for the man to be alone..and not have a helpmeet like him[just lower functioning creations] because

making man in His image andlikeness..He didn't think it a good thing for Him to only have lower functioning creatures as company.

   He desired higherfunctioning companionship[my thoughts are higher than your thoughts]

   everyone wants someone who 'gets' you. who understands etc..that provides a higher level of intimacy and companionship.a

greater sharing/love/bond..someonejust like us!!!!    Thus,Let us make man in our image and likeness.  and because this is His

divine plan..when manis'changed" into the incorruptible image of Christ..all the lower creationwill be placedunder His feet and He shall

take hisplace in the assembly in heaven...

The sun and the moon were not put in place till the fourth day of creation- so the heavenly stuff was way ahead of the earthly.

that's what i think too, i just don't have a good feel for the "time-line"/some of the order of events.

some thoughts of possibilities prior to the foundation of the world as we know it;

God was lonely/desired something more than was happening

he made some sorts of creations, such as angelic beings, and some even say an "older" earth with creatures in the animal realm, short of human that was disrupted in Genesis to make way for current creation

and in sheila's post, that God roamed around in His universe, sort of "searching" (although I would think He would already know what He would or wouldn't find)

Seems to me like some things may be gleaned from scripture, while much must be speculation.

Truly sharing from the heart is indescribable and cannot be beaten for joy- so our Father wanting to share with us must be awesome.
Before beginning that sharing His patience must be incredible; that being deemed necessary  so that we can FULLY appreciate the significance of events.
So the next phase will be mind boggling. True conversion with our glorious creator thanks to Jesus.
Sitting around speculating and exploring possibilities is what we tend to do before things happen- we are created in His image, so there must be similarities in some of the character departments.

  I always   ''get excited '' to  learn new   things about God and Proverbs 8   blessed my socks off when I first saw the light in them opening up in ways I never even considered before .

I love how the Lord does that , makes you keep looking  and searching   for the Day light savings'' time  '' in my own heart

  When I saw this in the Old testament /witness  and saw the Wisdom of God and than Paul saying Jesus Christ in the new testament is the  power &  Wisdom of God  comparing the scriptures  became  a  habit  that connected    what seemed like puzzle pieces that connect to each other  giving  a better picture  all the while and keep on pressing into it   was rewarding and than the hidden name meanings was just   thrilling  to see those hidden things   just sparkle and shine  forth !! wow   ...

  The days of old before the world was even  made !!!   They were ONE and always together   Wisdom & the Father and  when you read the scripture as the'' CHRIST /anointed ''   is just that ,  How did  Solomon  know this  but by the anointing of the Holy Spirit and How did Paul except by  the anointing, Christ in them  also!!  and THE LORD JESUS CHRIST was sent and 
you say from where was he sent from ?

How is this the only name under heaven by which you must be saved  ?  But  He is called the  ''anointed One '' Word of God in heaven  ! ,  and a name no one knows but Himself   .   But than we also have   the scriptures telling us     He come as flesh and blood   in the form of an innocent  baby boy    that  was  conceived of the Holy Spirit   sent into the world as the perfect   sacrificial Lamb of God at the appointed time  [ fullness of time ]    much to ponder in these   things .


1Cor 1 ...23but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, 24but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.

25For the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man's strength....

GOD  IS LIFE   in and of Himself     and there is no beginning or end  as the scriptures speak of  His  glory !!!

For me, what is mind blowing about that is that Paul is making the first record of this information since the records were being kept some 4000 years.
The mystery which had been kept hidden for the ages.
Eph 3;4,5 " Accordingly, when you read this, you will be able to understand my insight into the mystery of Christ,
                 WHICH WAS NOT MADE KNOWN TO THE SONS OF MEN IN OTHER GENERATIONS as it has been revealed to His holy
                 prophets and apostles by the  spirit."

Since this was done before the world begun there must indeed have been much discussion and excitement.
Much attention to detail when we look at the planets, then add in life on the earth and the scheme looks bigger- toss in the next ages in plural and the anticipation is now festering in us like it did before the first stuff started happening.
