Workers in the vineyard and crucifixion.

Personally I don't see any parallels between the vineyard parable (Mat 20) and crucifixion day besides the hours. Could be a coincidence but I severely doubt that. There is a reason that hours are mentioned in the parable and crucifixion events. Of course that doesn't prove they are related but lets just say it sparked my interest.

I'm sure you all know both the vineyard parable and crucifixion events so I'll just give a sort summary.

Mat 20:1 Workers are hired early. I assume at dawn.
Mark 15:1 Jesus is brought before court at dawn.

Mat 20:3 Someone stands in the market at the 3rd hour.
Mark 15:25 Pilate sentences Jesus to death a the 3rd hour.

Mat 20:5 More workers are hired at the 6th and 9th hour.
Mark 27:45 Darkness on the cross and death at the 9th hour.

Mat 20:6 11th hour more workers are hired.
No 11th hour is mentioned during crucifixion day but it is possibly the time He was put in the tomb.

As you see the times match perfectly, but I see nothing beyond that.
For example how is being sentenced to death related to being hired for  job?

that's the first I've ever heard of that concept,Tony.   But,I'll throw out a few
thoughts.   along this line........the wages of sin are death...but belief in Jesus

  Christ is righteousness.........and our work is to believe.

   dawn-a great light has come   [some men have loved darkness]

   11th hour[when placed in the tomb] he who believes in me will never die,if he

die..he shall live/do you believe me]

it is for your benefit that I go[ return unto the Father]in a little while,you will no longer see me,and yet in a little whle,you will see me again

      this is just a rough construct based on a worker being a believer in Christ

   that He is the son of God and died for all men.

Ok, I don't disagree with any of your quotes on themself.
I just see no connection.

How does getting hired for working in the vineyard equals "he who believes never dies".
If, for example believing relates to working in an vineyard then your quote is even more valid for the workers of the 1st hour.

IDK Tony,it may be connected or not. I just surmised that our 'work' was to

  believe in He that God sent.......and the work of redemption of all men done

  at the cross by God through His son.

    there may be a parrallel or not.......I was just going with our 'work' to be

believing in the one He sent...our 'hiring' being the faith He  places in us to believe

in the one He sent.

   are you contemplating why the 11th hour workers received the same as 1st hour workers?  if so,all I can say is..He that is faithful in little[one hour] is

faithful in much[same as all day workers] in His eyes.  since faith comes by hearing.[hear ye Him]

   the people at the trial and crucifixtion either 'heard' Jesus and put faith in what

He said,or not. the competing voices of the religious leaders of the day spoke

also.  what is truth[the real bread/manna from heaven]

   truth,God must reveal..in His time..and through His gift of faith.
