So it seems that they focus on the external act rather than the the intention of the heart. I guess eating meat sacrificed to idols would be unacceptable too, in all cases.

  :sigh:  So much confusion

y ep..caused a lot of tension/wrecked my marriage to my husband..who wanted turkey and fixins on Thanksgiving.....a tree at

christmas..etc.  I worked a lot of holidays.   they did tell me I could fix the turkey etc..but I should not set at the table to eat it..to eat

in the kitchen?  sometimes people like to impose their conscience on someone else.   I almost lost my mind over it all..major

  depression......almost drove my car off a bridge......no-one can serve two masters..they both[church/husband] wanted/demanded

different things from me..and felt they had the legal right to demand what they wanted.

    sorry..didn't mean to hi-jack

well..see..their reasoning goes like this......John the Baptist lost his head because a certain woman danced for this guy on his birthday!

...therefore..birthdays are evil and pagan custom..as are Christmas,Easter, thanksgiving, mothersday, fathersday etc.

also, because windchimes were used centuries ago for some nefarious purpose they were bad....and a unicorn on my daughters purse

her Dad bought her was an issue...as well as scoobie doo on children's pencils. as well as men wearing beards.

crucify could not be used..torture stake was the proper term[cross is pagan symbol and lie]
I was paying big $$$$ to send my sons to a private "christian" school.  My boys were sent home because their haircuts were too worldly.  They had bowl cuts.  The were 6 and 8 years old.  So silly.

:cloud9: I sent my daughter to a Christian school in middle school. Years later she told me her first day at school, some girls had drugs in the bathroom doing it. Seems all the parents that thought it would be safer, including me, were wrong.  :sigh:

...7casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you. 8Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. 9But resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your brethren who are in the world.
