Warning - I'm very "full of myself" this morning.  The ideas race through my head upon waking (and even during sleep) but before I can get them down they are gone.

The text this morning, congregation, (HALLOOOOOOOO anyone out there?  no?  Well GOOD, I can speak FREELY..) anyway, the text is, be not drunk with wine wherein is excess but be FILLED WITH THE SPIRIT.

Now, like all good preachers I take liberties with the scripture.  Whichever way I see it, however I want to put it together, THERE IT IS.  I say Spirit and Light are rather co-equivalent.  I say being drunk with wine is rather like the ol' whore (Rev 17:6) drunk with the blood of the saints, like our vampire symbol, dead things that try to pretend to live by sucking the life out of those who aren't dead yet... but the poor ol' vampire whore she knows not what she does, the dead don't know anything, the scripture says so..Eccl 9:5 - I forgive the blood suckers, they are hungry for life - and siphon it off wherever they find it, God knows I do the same.

I was thinking of the word "turgid" - it means filled to the bursting point.  The man is "turgid" before coitus, and quite flaccid afterwards.  Flaccid, one of the Hebrew words translated "fool" means that.  Limp, slack.  Lifeless. No wonder men think "wimmin is the debbul" (from the movie Waterboy but also from any fundamentalist pulpit on any Sunday.  However I read at a Hebrew site that the suffix "ah" (as in Jehovah) is always indiciative of "feminine" in Hebrew.  Like Sarah.  :~)  )

The woman is "flaccid" before coitus but if she conceives she is quite Turgid for a time thereafter.  (You should see my daughter in law, she's due with her second child any minute - about to burst it appears.)

However after she is delivered of the child she also is quite "flaccid" (don't ask me about what a post-partum abdomen looks like - but it does get somewhat better girls, hang in there.)

And NOW who is "full of himself"???? TA DA.....drum roll....THE NEW CREATURE...BURSTING ON THE WORLD - delighted and delightful...crying yes but in a short time, as soon as the basics of physical needs are met, on the prowl, looking for delight and finding it nearly everywhere he/she looks...expecting to be loved, ready to love...lovely...until the trials of life beat it out of him...and eventually he/she also shrivels...becomes old and foolish...round and round we go...

Be not drunk with wine wherein is excess but be Filled with the Spirit. Eph 5:18.  Compare:

But if thine eye be Single, thy whole body is Filled with Light.  Matt 6:22.  The light of the body is the eye.  What you see is what you understand.  "Single" is an unfortunate rendering, the actual word does mean "one" yes, but it doesn't mean just stare at one thing and forget everything else as the ocd nuts do, obsessive compulsive about One Idee Fixe...  It means BRAIDED TOGETHER...  As White Light is ALL WAVELENGTHS UNIFIED.

If your "eye" is "evil" your whole body is in the dark.  You just don't get it, you see but you don't understand.  It's ok, you aren't able to bear it yet...he only turns the light on as you can stand it...as you get large enough to encompass the larger understanding....till one day you are either delivered of your sore travail...or like the frog that got too big for himself, you burst.

But if...you lose nothing of all that has been entrusted to you...if you see it as from the hand of the Father (or from the joined hands of the two of you, from the foundation of the world, 2Tim 1:9, Prov 8:30-31, Heb 10:7)...well the dayspring from on high has paid you a visit, you are all grown up now, have to put away childish things and roll up your sleeves and get to work in earnest...hoping, watching, praying, loving - and still gathering in the grain, there is always more and more, in fact the more you get the more there is...

Leviathan is a braided creature, so is Levi.  The idea is all over the bible really.  A usual braid is just three strands.  But there are more than three.  A lot more.  A man drowns in the ocean - I was just on a cruise - looking at the deep blue sea and endless expanse was overwhelming...but LEVIATHAN PLAYS THERE, Ps 104:26.  The Crooked Serpent, his head broken in pieces...  He could be straight if he was dead...a nice hard straight ROD.  But alive he is endlessly flexible.

Once again a post full of so many deep thoughts

Quotebut the poor ol' vampire whore she knows not what she does, the dead don't know anything, the scripture says so..Eccl 9:5 - I forgive the blood suckers, they are hungry for life - and siphon it off wherever they find it, God knows I do the same.

Isnt it the truth! I so can relate to that stmt. I look back and couldnt count the times I sucked life right out of others, could only come out to do so in the dark of my fleshly carnal knowing.......led by the lust in me for life, any life! Im sure there is a vampire in ALL of us, in fact, as a young christian Jesus as my 'body of blood' , I went down to the altar constantly to drink, to suck life out of Him.......and He gave freely, 'here drink my cup'...........I had no idea that the blood I drank so freely would drag me to the cross, thru the cross and make of me a body full of blood laid out and sucked upon...

we are all just a bunch of bloodsuckers Shun, we have no life of our own, we have to get it from another, and pierce their skin with our teeth, drink them in .........oh how humbling

love ya

This is really deep shunammite.....I had to read it a couple of times before I saw the profound meaning in it.

Girl......you are a true Spiritual thinker.....sharing in a way I was unprepared for.

I appreciate you telling us your thoughts.  Interesting about the 3 -- braid......and the ocean.  You seem to think very symbolically.......I find the way you conceptualize the Spirit to be very intruiging now.

LOL...Ecc 7:13 Consider the work of God: for who can make [that] straight, which he hath made crooked?

Isa 40:3 The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.

Isa 40:4 Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain:

Yehaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

agreed Card.. A GREAT price.

Num 20:8 Take the rod, and gather thou the assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy brother, and speak ye unto the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water, and thou shalt bring forth to them water out of the rock: so thou shalt give the congregation and their beasts drink.

Whoa, I thought I had been deleted. SO OVERJOYED TO LEARN THAT IS NOT THE CASE...

I work full time with no internet access, no time to "edit" ideas - this was intended for my blog but could not resist trying to find SOMEONE TO HEAR ME, and THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU...

I know it doesn't make perfect sense...  *whispers, does the bible make perfect sense???!!  And yet the truth of it pierces to the core!!!*

I apologize to the mods for posting in the wrong place...thanks for putting it where it doesn't cause trouble...I came to Tentmakers when I first realized there was something rotten in Denmark, my first visit to the web, very very long story...would not want to horrify anyone just beginning to press against the cruel overseer.....like the shell of the egg, he's just there to protect you until you can handle more freedom...
