Hi all

I joined CityData forum a couple of weeks ago, I did it mainly because I had to face the different viewpoints between the UR, ET, and Annihilationist POV

At this stage I'm happy to report that I no longer believe in ET, I am however not convinced of the UR position either (My heart wants UR to be true, however in more inclined toward the conditionalist view at present)

This isn't the main reason for my post though, when I joined CD, I saw ET'ers as a bunch of hypocritical, 2 faced, lying narcissistic snakes, there was a particular poster there that I wanted to ride (which I did), I also wanted to point out that anyone sharing and embracing his ET doctrine was exactly the same, only that they were dishonest and not portraying an accurate picture of an ET god, although I think I may have been successful somewhat in pointing this out, I'm not proud of the way I conducted myself on that forum, I can be scathing and sarcastic when pushed, and I have to admit I had anger issues towards the ET'ers :sigh: when I joined there

I have however come to the following conclusion

I realize that many people are so indoctrinated that the minute they hear a different POV, they immediately react negatively towards it, especially if they think a doctrine could be false, the bible actually warns against false doctrines, the truth is although I want UR to be true, I just don't sense it is :sigh: , also the behaviour of some of the people conveying messages and starting threads did'nt help matters either, I realized that many of the ET'ers were not being as 2 faced as I initially thought, and I have come to terms with the fact that we are all different, the problem is learning to accept and co-exist with one anothers POV, I made a public apology for my behaviour on that forum

I think the main problem is that too many people are focusing on punishment and revenge and not addressing the main reason why most of them are there in the first place, which is tell people about salvation through Christ alone, the thing is that no matter how a person may appear, once pressed their true colors will show, and sometimes the picture becomes very ugly

I only pray now that whatever I post, I may truly show forth the love of Christ, I don't want to harbor grudges in my heart anymore

:cloud9: It's always a good 'education' to go up against opposing factions, if for no other reason you find out real quick what YOU really believe. Keep pouring over the UR threads/articles until it gets down into your spirit, and not just your mind, and then the 'battle' will cease and you'll 'know that you know'. Blessings....

Thanks so much Cardinal for your response, my heart wants UR to be true :HeartThrob:

But what I think I REALLY have to do is seek God and focus on Him, which I haven't been doing, I've harbored grudges which has clouded my judgment, and blinded me to some horrible truths that hit like a thunderbolt this morning, however despite this rude awakening, I've felt a lot more at peace today, than I have in a long, long time  :HeartThrob:

Thanks so much to all of you, I sense genuine love and concern from you all, if any of you have been praying for me, I thank you

I think I have to give forums a rest and have a real close look at the UR articles from a conditionalist POV, and most of all I have to seek the Lord first and let Him show me that what most of you believe is true  :HeartThrob:

I'm just so ecstatic that ET has been proved to be a false doctrine (biblically) and has been successfully debunked, being burdened about the ET doctrine for the last year and a half has weighed heavily on me and really taken its toll, and has been FAR worse than anything I've ever faced, now hopefully I can put the nightmare behind me and really focus on what's the important, which is focusing on the Lord and putting Him first

:cloud9: I understand. Don't be a stranger, though.........we all need one another's strengths here to walk this out together. Be blessed in your coming in and your going out....... :HeartThrob:

Hey Sparrow, I found this on another forum, and I thought it was
really good......I had never even heard of this lost writing.

The Gospel of the Holy Twelve
Translated from the original Aramaic
by Rev. G.J.R. Ouseley

What Is Truth?

    1. AGAIN the twelve were gathered together in the Circle of palm trees, and one of them even Thomas said to the other, What is Truth? for the same things appear different to different minds, and even to the same mind at different times. What, then, is Truth?

    2. And as they were speaking Iesus appeared in their midst and said, Truth, one and absolute, is in God alone, for no man, neither any body of men, knoweth that which God alone knoweth, who is the All in All.. To men is Truth revealed, according to their capacity to understand and receive.

    3. The One Truth hath many sides, and one seeth one side only, another seeth another, and some see more than others, according as it is given to them.

    4. Behold this crystal: how the one light its manifest in twelve faces, yea four times twelve, and each face reflecteth one ray of light, and one regardeth one face, and another another, but it is the one crystal and the one light that shineth in all.

    5. Behold again, When one climbeth a mountain and attaining one height, he saith, This is the top of the mountain, let us reach it, and when they have reached that height, lo, they see another beyond it until they come to that height from which no other height is to be seen, if so be they can attain it.

    6. So it is with Truth. I am the Truth and the Way and the Life, and have given to you the Truth I have received from above. And that which is seen and received by one, is not seen and received by another. That which appeareth true to some, seemeth not true to others. They who are in the valley see not as they who are on the hill top.

    7. But to each, it is the Truth as the one mind seeth it, and for that time, till a higher Truth shall be revealed unto the same: and to the soul which receiveth higher light, shall be given more light. Wherefore condemn not others, that ye be not condemned.

    8. As ye keep the holy Law of Love, which I have given unto you, so shall the Truth be revealed more and more unto you, and the Spirit of Truth which cometh from above shall guide you, albeit through many wanderings, into all Truth, even as the fiery cloud guided the children of Israel through the wilderness.

    9. Be faithful to the light ye have, till a higher light is given to you. Seek more light, and ye shall have abundantly; rest not, till ye find.

    10. God giveth you all Truth, as a ladder with many steps, for the salvation and perfection of the soul, and the truth which seemeth to day, ye will abandon for the higher truth of the morrow. Press ye unto Perfection.

    11. Whoso keepeth the holy Law which I have given, the same shall save their souls, however differently they may see the truths which I have given.

    12. Many shall say unto me, Lord, Lord, we have been zealous for thy Truth. But I shall say unto them, Nay, but, that others may see as ye see, and none other truth beside. Faith without charity is dead. Love is the fulfilling of the Law.

   13. How shall faith in what they receive profit them that hold it in unrighteousness? They who have love have all things, and without love there is nothing worth. Let each hold what they see to be the truth in love, knowing that where love is not, truth is a dead letter and profiteth nothing
.
    14. There abide Goodness, and Truth, and Beauty, but the greatest of these is Goodness. If any have hatred to their fellows, and harden their hearts to the creatures of God's hands, how can they see Truth unto salvation, seeing their eyes are blinded and their hearts are hardened to God's creation?

    15. As I have reveived the Truth, so have I given it to you. Let each receive it according to their light and ability to understand, and persecute not those who receive it after a different interpretation.

    16. For Truth is the Might of God, and it shall prevail in the end over all errors. But the holy Law which I have given is plain for all, and just and good. Let all observe it for the salvation of their souls.

GOD   Bless you so much SHADOW  :HeartThrob:

Oh that we all would be so conscience on how we handle the WORD OF LIFE dear one ... :cloud9:

That which was from the beginning,
  which we have heard,

which we have seen with our eyes,

  which we have looked upon,

  and our hands have handled,

  of the Word of life

1Jo 1:2   (For the life was manifested, and we have seen [it], and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)

1Jo 1:3   That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship [is] with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ
Jesus is the reward  !!

I understand you quite well and also contributed to the discussion there and have sometimes similar thoughts as you.

in many discussions I hinted at the biblical possibility of annihilation in the discussion with believers in hell, though I don't believe it.

maybe I find the time to write why I have some problems with it and reject it.

what did convince you, that at least hell (ET) is unscriptural? - I'm just interested

Shadow

Thanks for all the supportive comments everyone :HeartThrob:

Sven I reread these webpages

http://www.jewishnotgreek.com/

http://www.hell-know.net/

The second one successfully addresses and debunks ET, however it also makes valid arguments in chapter 8 against UR, that are not so easy to refute :sigh: :dontknow:

The question is though, WHY would I have gone through the same nightmare as Rodgertutt, which I'm sure many of you know about, mine started long before I was aware of ED or UR, something like this would never have worried or burdened me 2 years ago, so there has to be a reason why I went through it, I'm also fully aware that (thankfully in some ways) that not many people have, or will go through it themselves

http://greater-emmanuel.org/Hope4You/

The best part of all is perhaps 3 years ago, I would have dismissed Rodger as being a lunatic or something, or perhaps I would have just been plain indifferent towards him, however I'm extremely grateful to have heard that I'm not the only one who went through this, I'm just glad it didn't last as long, also having looked at the ET'ers arguments that focus on a handful of verses, to the exclusion of many others that clearly indicate something other than that that is fixated and implanted in their minds

Also the quick and favourite verse "God's ways are not our ways." when defending the ET doctrine just doesn't cut it anymore, they also conveniently forget verses such as this

Isa 5:20  Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

The main point, is how can the ET doctrine, ever be viewed as being something good
