I was at a church and I opened up a tract to the section about Hell saying it was eternal. Was that God?

Shadow

Hell being eternal is the traditional (majority) church view, so it's no surprise that the pamphlet would say that :dontknow: , I too have seen many tracts that say hell is eternal

Apparently this wasn't always so Universalism
The Prevailing Doctrine Of The Christian Church During Its First Five Hundred Years

Just because something is the majority opinion doesn't mean it's right, the fact is that traditional christians hate universal restoration and will try to suppress and stamp it out with whatever means possible

Contradicts a properly translated Bible, so nope :Sparkletooth:

hi ya andromeda,
Did the message fill you with so much love that you wanted to run outside and tell everybody that God is wonderful!
Well if not then it probably didn't come from Him. If a message fills you with utter dread and lack of peace, then it's probably not from God.  He is the Father of peace not of confusion.

Not the God I know.  It was the writer of the tract talking to you, trying to coerce you to worship God out of a spirit of fear, which would not actually be worship.

I can hardly imagine that that has been God, I know a more positive story.

I met a believer in a German forum, he told his story, after I wrote about universalism.

He has been a believer for a while, then he came to the point where he could no longer bear the belief in hell, it hadn't bothered him before. He had a hard time.

When he ordered something in ebay, an unknown believer atted a tract of the concordant publishers about universalism to the sending, he read it and his eyes where opened.

He ordered a concordant New Testament then and believes in universalism now.

Depends, if Satan being the God of this world is who it was from, yes it was.

But if your thinking it was from the God who loves you and the one who is often hard to see through your circumstances, then, NO.
