Recurring dream about haunted church buildings

I have repeatedly dreamed about being in a church building, usually one with which I am familiar, and I hear strange noises coming from the back of the building.  I go and investigate the source of the noises and sometimes I see supernatural things taking place at the source of the noise.  The sounds are usually coming from classrooms where teaching takes place weekly.  The church buildings are always dark, and if I try to turn on lights they won't work.  I then make noise myself to try to scare it off, but it usually scares me off.  These dreams are vivid.  I believe these dreams are related to the herecy of ET being taught in the church but there is a lot of symbolism here, and I have continued to have the dreams repeatedly.  I was having these dreams even before I embraced the truth of UR.  Anyone out there who has the gift of prophesy?  Anyone know anyone who has the gift of prophesy?  What are your thoughts?

Is more explanation really needed?  It looks like you have the gift of prophecy, for you interpret your dream perfectly.
Socrates taught Plato.  Plato taught Aristotle.  Aristotle tutored the son of Philip of Macedon.  This boy grew up to become Alexander the Great, largely by slaughtering a lot of people.  That's philosophy.

Jesus spoke the Truth.  He blessed the poor.  He healed the sick.  He even raised the dead.  He died on a cross for us, lived again, and came back long enough to tell us to love one another.  That's religion.

Exactly what do you see? :)

What do you think is being taught in these classrooms? ET?

The church buildings are always dark, and if I try to turn on lights they won't work.

1 John 1:5-7
This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.

1 John 2:8-11
At the same time, it is a new commandment that I am writing to you, which is true in him and in you, because the darkness is passing away and the true light is already shining. Whoever says he is in the light and hates his brother is still in darkness. Whoever loves his brother abides in the light, and in him there is no cause for stumbling. But whoever hates his brother is in the darkness and walks in the darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.

Laz, I do have the gift of prophecy, but it occurred to me that I may lack the faith to interpret these dreams with confidence and accuracy.  I have kept a journal.  I have interpreted some dreams and made accurate predictions in the past, but sometimes God does not give me the meaning right away, but later, sometimes even after they come true.  At times it is hard to tell whether they are prophetic dreams or just dreams reflecting recent thoughts or feelings.  The last thing I want to do is falsely prophesy.  Pray for me in this matter.  Thanks.

MissZoo, I cannot remember what I see going on.  It seems it is something different in each dream.  Sometimes it is only noise, without seeing anything.  The noise is usually a lot of banging or strange human-like vocalizations.  As for what is being taught in the classrooms - that ET sort of gospel, the "be good or God'll gitcha!" stuff.

I too, like yourself do not have enough faith to interpret your dreams, however I do feel I must stress this passage to you concerning this part of your dream - The church buildings are always dark, and if I try to turn on lights they won't work.
particularly the parts in bold...

"If I have not love I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal" comes to mind...

Lomarah, that verse came into my mind also.  But as for the people at least among our Baptist church, they are very loving and the fellowship is so sweet.  They do much for other poeple who are sick, shut-ins, drug-addicts, etc.  And the worship in our worship services is fervent.  [NOTE: As for why I am still involved in a Baptist church is a long story, but I know God has put me there to plant seeds of truth and to serve them with my musical talent.  I don't follow their doctrine, but rather follow the Spirit, and he teaches me truth.]  The scenario of a "sounding gong and clanging cymbal" certainly applies to the faulty man-made doctrines that abound in religion in general, as well as to religion in the absence of love.

I know JBerton doesn't go on here now, but feel I may have a couple things to say about it:

Isaiah 29
13Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men

Matthew 15
8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.

Matthew 6
23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!

Luke 11
35 Take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not darkness.

John 12
35Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.

Acts 26
18 To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.

1 Timothy 1
3As I urged you when I went into Macedonia, stay there in Ephesus so that you may command certain people not to teach false doctrines any longer 4or to devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies. Such things promote controversial speculations rather than advancing God's work—which is by faith. 5The goal of this command is love, which comes from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. 6Some have departed from these and have turned to meaningless talk. 7They want to be teachers of the law, but they do not know what they are talking about or what they so confidently affirm.

The worship that is in most churches is unknown to God. Back of the building is intentions of their hearts revealed as darkness, and they truly do not know the Light. Even when they try time make themselves appear as with light(light switch won't power on - still under the power of darkness) their works reveal it is not from God. If they knew the Light, they would know they we're walking in darkness, and would have checked with the owner to get it fixed.

Oh, and going to the back of the church and finding these noises means far from the door - far from Him.
John 1
14And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

Very interesting thread and great answers and verses! The only thing I thought of which wasn't mentioned was that Et.. even if shared in love and true affection, it still bears fruit of darkness.. not in or for everyone.. but you ever go to an atheist vs christian forum, the Et message is the biggest hindrance and people condemn God because of it. That and the difficulty of life, which isn't hard to answer if we understand - especially as it's likely God is life itself and therefore lives through and suffers all that ever occurs.. Which to me puts suffering of all in a very different light. As God 'suffering' most! Which I believe our emotions may be a faint, very faint reflection of His, so I have no trouble thinking He suffers deeply at the evils and abuses which occur. (But how to avoid them? other than never endowing the gift of being able to think and reason? Just seems logical, that when He endowed thinking ability - or that is the ability of choice - a whole new world/tree of possibilities came about, an abyss, surely? Of dark possibility.. Which history seems to prove right thoroughly.

What I found myself focusing on was the darkness of the church(es) in the dream.. the darkness as unintended fruit of the Et (blasphemous/insulting to God) "glad tidings  (sarcasm) to all".

Seems we all can do a little dream interpretation.. I'm sure!

I was considering this verse.. concerning the darkness of this Et 'gospel' (and how wouldn't that be nice!)
